I have to admit that I just bought this toy because it goes along with the Laugh & Learn house that I bought for my daughter. It does look cute in the holder that is built in on the house, but it is not the greatest toy. I understand that the volume is low because of regulations, but I wish it were like most toys that allow you to adjust the volume. You can hear the toy, when there is no other noise in the room. My daughter is 8 months and doesn't know yet to put it to her ear. She does like to watch the letters on the screen. I think when she is a little older she will be able to play a little better with it. If you were just looking for a play phone for your child, I would not recommend this one because of the volume. I would recommend it for the educational value.
