My 10 month old daughter got this at christmas from family, and I have to preface my opinion with this: While I don't have medically diagnosed hearing problems, I definitely don't have sensitve hearing, so after removing the toy from packaging, I supervised my daughter playing with it, and even in a small living room packed with family, music blaring, and everyone talking loud to compensate, I could still hear the toy, just enough to make out the music. At home in a quiter setting, it seems to be a acceptable level. My daughter is now almost one, and really likes this toy, I play with her, and I think it's going to be a great tool to teach her the basics of numbers and letters. The screen is nice and big, the letters and numbers easy to make out, and the mixed bag of tunes is nice, she will play with this for 15 minutes, (just enough time for mom to get a shower, lol) For the most part, I like this toy, and would give as a gift to friends.
