I purchased this musical drum for my 1-year old grandson. He loves it! I will have to wait to hear if it survives his banging away on it, but I'm sure he will enjoy all the varied sounds he can make with it as he experiments with banging and tossing it all over the place. He also takes delight in listening to it make music on it's own, so it can be a static as well as dynamic toy. It is not fragile, so I'm not worried about him breaking it right away. Also, it has no sharp edges or corners and is soft. It came with batteries and it has an on/off switch to preserve the parent's sanity.
