Sturdy Design Ideal for Young Photographers

Engineered with children's small hands in mind, the Kidizoom Spin & Smile Digital Camera comes with easy-to-grip, rounded sides and large, intuitive buttons. Kidizoom's sturdy design helps withstand rough handling by young photographers. While not indestructible, this camera stood up to repeated drops on a cement floor during testing.

Kidizoom comes with a twisting lens that flips effortlessly into position as well as a timer, taking the guesswork out of self-portraits and group shots. A zoom wheel activates the 4X digital zoom, while dual viewfinders and a full-color screen make it easy for children to compose pictures.

The camera screen's compact size does make it challenging to predict the photo quality before viewing on a television or computer monitor. Do not expect this 2.0 megapixel camera to take sharp photos of squirmy subjects in low-light conditions.

Zany Special Effects Unleash Creativity

Kidizoom allows your child to add silly hairstyles, wacky distortion, and colorful frames to photos. These can be easily viewed on a computer or television. Parents will need to spend a little time helping younger children find and use the editing features to allow them to fully unleash their creativity. Your child can also record movies with funny cartoon animations and scene-setting frames. A video recorder lets kids record and then distort voices, adding echo effects or robot intonations.

Along with the editing options, five preloaded games--including a photo puzzle, detective game, and germ-fighting adventure--will provide hours of educational entertainment for your child.

Built-In Memory Stores Hundreds of Photos

With 256 megabytes of internal memory, there's room for hundreds of photos or more than 10 minutes of video. The camera also supports up to 2 gigabytes of additional space by adding an SD card (sold separately).

5Cheese! by DollyRose

My 4 year old received this for her birthday. I bought it because she kept taking my iPhone and taking endless pictures of her face really close up. She loves the camera and loves that she can flip the lens around and take close ups of herself. She is even branching out and taking photos of other people and my furniture and floors. she literally took 100 photos within two days.

She has needed guidance with the phone, but it's actually been really good for her. Her daddy showed her how to focus her image into the box so her pictures don't come out blurry. I showed her how to take pictures with the stamps. Some of the features are a little over her head, but I like that this will be a toy that can grow and develop along with her.

Her younger brother who is two is also keenly interested in the camera. He can turn it on and take pictures.

It's fun and educational, plus I don't have to delete random photos off my phone anymore.

5Great gift by Kelly Quade

I bought this for my friends 6 year old daughter and she loves it. She has already taken so many pictures. The camera is easy to use. I did have to show her how to use it first but once I did she was fine. The games actually help her learn to use the camera better. It seems super durable and protected.

5Nice Camera - Looks used out of the box by troy

I bought this camera for my 3 year old for the holidays. I liked the features and especially the ability to turn the camera around to take her picture. It's one of two things she asked for from Santa. So I HAD to get a camera.

I got the camera, and opened it up. I wanted it to be ready for her to just take out and start using once she opened it. Upon opening it the camera had scratches on the plastic and a worn spot next to one of the buttons. It looked like it was used. I contacted Amazon and they made an exchange effortless and easy.

Upon receiving the second camera, I noticed that the scratches were also on the new camera and in the same spots. As I am an engineer, and have experience with plastics housings, it is an indication that the mold for the housing is defective. The camera worked fine, but the housing is slightly blemished with scratches and what looks to be a wear mark.

I would exchange it but am out of time before the holidays and I'm pretty sure that a third camera would have the same blemishes. My advise to you is that if you buy this camera, it will work, but at this juncture, it will have blemishes on the plastic. Which in all likelihood it will have them after some use.

And again, Amazon was great in the return and I have no problem with them, but with the camera.

5Awesome camera for kids to enjoy and learn how to use!! by ash

Has games and easy for children to understand how to use it. Really would recommand it :)Picture quality is just prefect for kids. The screen on the camera is just right.

5Love it! by sweetpea555

I got this for my 4 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas and this is her favorite gift by far. It is easy enough for her to figure out on her own and there are many fun things for her to do once she gets over just taking pictures of everything she sees. Right now, there are over 100 pictures and a 5 minute movie saved on it. After 1 day, we needed to replace the original batteries that came with it. Honestly, I think it may have been the adults that drained the batteries. Everyone was watching the movies, taking pictures with the mustache, wig, etc, trying out the games and just looking at the pictures that had been taken. It's a perfect size for little hands and a great first camera.

5It was a big hit for Christmas by vpd "awecian"

I bought this camera for my almost 3-year-old daughter. Before purchasing, I checked out reviews of various children's' cameras and was concerned about both durability and age appropriateness (ability for a young child to use). This one seemed promising, so I took the plunge.

Within 10 minutes, my daughter had snapped over 20 photos and was starting to find her way around the various features (some of which I'm pretty sure she won't understand for a while, but that's not a problem -- getting back to shooting mode is very simple). Within another 10 minutes she had figured out a number of other features. It's easy for her to hold and seems really durable. i imagine it would be able to withstand standard toddler banging around.

5Vtech Kidizoom Spin & Smile Camera by Aislinn

My 20-month-old tech-savvy (she is quite adept at figuring out electronics) daughter received this as an early Christmas present from her grandparents, and she loves it. Granted, she's not capable of intentionally selecting features yet, but she enjoys playing with it and in the last 2 days has taken over 100 photos and videos on her own (most are of her lap and the floor, but there are more than a few self-portraits and some funny videos of her carrying the camera around). The best part is, she gets the interactive response she likes and I don't have to take it away like I do with my own camera! She can push all the buttons she wants and I don't have to worry about her accidentally deleting important photos or breaking an expensive camera with her clumsy (and occasionally tantrum-throwing) toddler fingers.

Since we haven't owned it long, I can't attest to the camera's long-term durability, but it feels sturdy and has nice-sized rubbery grips, which each house 2 of the 4 required AA batteries. The dual viewfinder is an excellent idea, although the screen is more than adequate for framing a photo. The camera has battery-saving features, including a relatively short (but not too short) self-shutoff time and requiring a push-and-hold of the power button to turn on. There are only 8 buttons on the back, the top photo button, and the (mildly pointless 4x digital zoom) zoom wheel, and they are very user-friendly. For example, the OK button also works to take photos, which is great for children whose hands may be too small to grip the camera steadily while pushing the top button. The LED flash is housed where the lens would traditionally be found. The swivel lens is on top and great for self-portraits! The pinhole lens means no focusing is needed, which in turn means no waiting for the camera to focus. A true point-and-shoot. In terms of storage space, it has 256MB of internal memory, and you can choose to reduce the resolution 0.3 megapixels to save space, but there is an SD slot for extra storage. My daughter's use so far has filled about 3/4 of the internal memory with the full 2MP.

That being said, this is a toy with camera capability akin to that of a regular cell phone, not a heavy-duty camera. The photos will probably not be print quality unless you get just the right shot. So far, my only complaint is that there is no battery meter. We're still working on the same set of batteries with a fair amount of use, but we've only had it the 2 days and it would be nice to have some indication of when they'll need replacing.

5Very Disappointed by Parentsof4girls

This camera is junk! Pictures were blurry and one of the buttons was broke. Good thing we tested it before giving it to our daughter for Christmas. Pass this one up!

5USB Cable by haleygrandma

I got the innotab tablet for my grandaughter for her birthday and then was told that the Vtch Kidizoom camera was the one to use to download her pictures to the computer. The box states right on it that USB cable not included, but no where does it tell me which one to buy for it. Please help me. I want all the pieces before I give it to her. Thanks

5It was a waste of money. by Mate Vasilj "tunin"

The 2mpx camera and the small screen are just not worth it today. There are better choices out there for the same amount or less.

I opened the box and the camera was broken. Not cool. My granddaughter didn't even get to play with it.
