Like a Funhouse Mirror by Jerry Palmerino Jr
The photo of this product does not accurately reflect what is shipped. The problenm is with the fabric that connects the two sides of the mirror together. In the photo, there is no fabric filling in the gap between the two sides. The product that is shipped has fabric that fills in the space between the two sides. This causes this product to topple over easily because you cannot open the mirror up to a large enough angle. It is constantly falling over.
As for the mirror itself, it is simply a funhouse style mirror that stretches and contorts your baby's face in all directions. I am left wondering what sort of developmental effect this actually has on a child.
Our baby loves looking at himself in a real mirror when we hold him up to it. Unfortunately, he is not as enthusiastic about seeing himself in this mirror.
Good Mirror, Cute Bugs by Kimberly Dzwonkowski
I've read other reviews of this mirror and find that it does indeed stand up well on its own to serve as a good tummy time toy. The mirror is nice - does not distort the reflection, and it is framed in soft cloth with cute bugs that have tags and detach. It also boasts some sweet rings and curly cues to pull. It's very bright and definitely got my baby's attention.
Much loved but tips easily by R. Flint
My 5-month-old loves this mirror and the crinkly leaves at the bottom. He often lays on his tummy and looks at himself and grabs at it. When it's not attached to something, it tips very easily. So, we have to constantly stand it upright again.
cute mirror by B. Addison "baddison
This product serves its purpose. You can strap it to the crib and/or lay it on the floor. The only thing that's misleading is the picture. It makes it look like you can drape it over objects due to the space that might be between the front and the back. In fact, there is no gap there and it just folds out a bit into a triangle base so it can stand upright on flat surfaces.
I am disappointed with this. It's ok. It meets the minimum description of the product. But there are a couple problems.
1) The velcro loops for hanging it in the crib are on the side of the ladybug. This means when hung, the ladybug is upside down. There was a picture on the box that showed the ladybug rotated, but mine is sewn down, so there is no way to make it right side up while hung on the crib rail.
2) When hung the velcro that holds the mirror "easel" closed pulls the fabric out, so that it really doesn't hang straight.
3) The mirror does have some distortion, especially around the edges.
So yeah. It wasn't so bad that I went to the effort to return it, but I wouldn't rec it to a friend.
One of the best baby purchases I've made by Tia "shoe fanatic"
I ordered this mirror months ago when my daughter was just starting to do tummy time. She absolutely loved it as standing mirror. Now its hanging in her crib and she plays with it both in the morning when she wakes up and at night to fall asleep. Our 2 year old niece also likes to play with it and hold things up in front of it. It's really durable and has really taken a beating. I highly recommend this mirror as a toy that will be useful as your baby grows into a toddler.
The item I received is not as pictured in the photo. In the photo, the bottom of the mirror opens up to stand; however, on the item I received, the bottom part is connected by blue fabric. As a result, it doesn't stand up for very long when I set it down for my baby to play with.
Also, the advertisement states "true reflection mirror", but the item I received has kind of a "funhouse" type reflection on the sides. Not really a big deal, but not exactly as advertised.
There was also a large sticker on the mirror part which was difficult to remove and left an ugly mark on the mirror after I finally got it off. It looks like it would be pretty distracting.
I got it on sale 50% off, and I'm glad I didn't pay full price. Amazon might want to update their advertising for this item so it's more accurate.
Product is fine. Packaging is terrible. by Matt
The mirror comes with a large sticker on it that leaves residue behind. Of course since the mirror is a kid-safe material (important, obviously), the residue won't come off. Incredibly frustrating and unnecessary.
Great mirror! by Freddie'sgrace
My 2 month old loves to look at himself in this mirror during tummy time. It stays up fine on the carpet and it is NOT a fun house mirror like other reviews have stated. I would recommend this mirror to other Mom's
For the price (now that it's half off), this toy is pretty good. At full price, probably not so much.
Like others have mentioned, the mirror is plastic and does have a bit of a funhouse quality--Not too bad on mine, little worse around the edges but my baby still loves looking in it anyway. No stickers on my mirror, however there was a dime sized scuff mark and being that it's plastic, it's not something I can buff out.
Also like others have mentioned, the item doesn't stand up and open like a card as show in the picture. Fabrics connects the two seperated pieces so it is a bit more prone to tipping over, but my little dude has a strong punch--I think he'd tip it over even if it were as pictures. That being said, mine stands up pretty well.
The velco crib attachments on the back are a little confusing--They are set vertically, which would be awesome as you could attach it to the top horizontal rail... Except that they are set at the bottom of the mirror, so you kind of have to mess with them a little bit to get them around the also vertical crib bars. It works though.
My little guy really digs this mirror though. He especially likes the lady bug toy on the bottom of the mirror--He's only three months, so mostly he just likes to bat at the ball and crinkle the leaves a lot; he takes great enjoyment in that. The bess he could care less about right now.
For the price, I was happy with what I got and so is little man!
WHO IS THAT HANDSOME BOY? by WMOORE
MY LITTLE GRANDSON JUST LOVES HIS MIRROR WE GOT HIM FOR CHRISTMAS. I READ ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS BEFORE I DECIDED TO GET THIS AND SOME PEOPLE SAID THEY HAD DISTORTION WITH THE SIDES OF THE MIRROR LIKE A FUN HOUSE? WE HAVE NONE. IT IS PERFECT. THEY ALSO SAID THEIRS WOULDN'T STAND UP BECAUSE THE BASE WAS CONNECTED WITH A PIECE OF FABRIC. THIS ONE IS FINE. THE FABRIC COMES OUT ENOUGH TO LET THE SIDE OPEN UP FAR ENOUGH TO WHERE IT WONT TOPPLE OVER. I LOVE THAT THIS HAS THE LITTLE VELCRO HOOKS ON THE BACK TO HOOK IT TO THE SIDE OF HIS CRIB. HE JUST LOVES TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR AT HIMSELF AND JUST LAUGHS AND SMILES. I CAN SEE HIM HAVING THIS FOR A VERY VERY LONG TIME,AS HE IS ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD RIGHT NOW,I CAN SEE HIM USING THIS WELL PAST THE 1 YEAR MARK.
Great item by A. Bownes "anndimari
My daughter can be a little rough with her toys and this one stands up to the test. She chews on it and throws it around and the mirror is in fine condition. The stand alone feature is a favorite of mine. An old baby safe mirror we had, always had to be leaned up aganist something, when the baby is playing/laying on the floor, so I really love this one.
these were $20 everywhere I looked. I was so happy when I found this on Amazon for only 10$. My son loves to look at himself during tummy time. I love how it has Velcro straps for attaching to things
good but... by Nanette Nielson "N@n
It claims to have a no-distortion mirror. That is incorrect. Other than that, great. Baby loves it for tummy time.
Don't love this mirror... by Dean & Jenny King
I really don't care for this mirror. It doesn't stay upright, is constantly falling down. Also, the "mirror" itself fogs up and it is hard to see anything in it really. I wouldn't spend your money on this...
Baby is crazy for this mirror! by M. Pabis
When I received this mirror as a gift, I wasn't very impressed with the way it looked. I thought it looked kind of cheap and boring. Silly me. When I hung it in my baby girl's crib, she went nuts for it. She smiles and screams at the baby in the mirror and reaches for the little bee to crinkle it. It kept her entertained for long periods of time. She's 6 months old now and the fascination has worn off a little, but she still loves it.
Cheap and Highly Entertaining! by S. Juranek "Brainmat
My 3 mo old just loves this toy. He really likes the bugs and loves to grab at them. It's versatile, and safe for any age. I especially love the price. Perfect to take in the car, or to grandma's house.
Do not buy this product by dina
This product is cheap and the quality matches the price. The mirror is highly distorted; I consider this enough to advise against its use for a developping baby.
great developmental toy by anon
My 3.5 month old loves looking at this mirror. He can have squealing conversations with it for a half-hour at a time (which is great for letting me get stuff done), and he's more accepting of tummy time if he can have this to look at. Yes, it's a little distorted at the edges, but it's not like the baby cares. The 4 stars is because it can't really easily be hung in the crib without being right in the baby's face (at least if baby is on a high mattress setting). However we have it hanging from an arch thing over his crib and it works great. One of my top favorite baby toys thus far.
My son is absolutely fascinated with his reflection in the sassy crib mirror! The drawbacks are: it falls easily. The fasteners that secure it to the crib don't work with mine. But even on the floor, it is very unstable. The mirror surface itself gets spotty, not sure why. The colors and toys around the edges are interesting and engaging.
Excellent for Tummy Time! by kackerman
My son loves this mirror; it's the only thing that can convince him to do tummy time. It is a good size, attaches safely to his crib, and has a real mirror. This toy is one of the best purchases I've made--inexpensive and educational. He'd talk to himself all day...and this was the toy that convinced him to roll over for the first time.
Adore this mirror! by Courtney
Highly recommend this mirror over the others! It's soft but not flimsy. Stands alone or straps to the sides of the crib. The leaves crinkle and makes it very interesting for my daughter to discover! She loves picking it up over her head looking at herself, and I don't have to worry if it falls on her if it will hurt. It's the PERFECT choice!
Cute and does the job by mojoe
My little girl loved to stare at her self in it... I got it for her when she was a newborn and she still looks at herself in at 3 months.
Grandson's favorite mirror toy by GypsyWeaver
An instant favorite of eight-month-old mirror-fascinated boy. Reflected image is true; mirror is lightweight so easily manipulated by him. Although the fabric stand aspect is not stable, the mirror is easily propped against anything nearby, and could be attached to a crib or other object if stationary position is preferred. The toy is so lightweight that tipping against a baby would not be a problem. This grandma searched long and hard for safe mirrors, both locally and online, and this is the one that best meets the current interest and needs of this child.
My beautiful new born daughter loves this mirror looks at herself for hours, just like her mother looks in the mirror
Great for self-discovery by Mommylicious
We received this for my son's first birthday from a dear friend. I was surprised at how sizable the mirror was. I loved that my son (who has never really had tummy time due to a bleeding disorder) enjoyed having the mirror. He would lie down in his Leachco PeaPod and stare at his reflection in the mirror. He'd also wave to it and smile! He's also able to grab the mirror and hold it over him as he lies on his back and he loves to try to kiss his reflection as well. I really love this mirror and wish I would've bought it sooner.
Could have been great... by Two Happy Labs
In the photo there is no fabric piece connecting the mirror to its stand. The actual product's back only extends out about 2 inches and makes it super-easy to tip over. I also never understand why products like these need to have a huge adheasive sticker on the mirror. Ours was next to impossible to remove - and the more we tried products to remove the sticker, the more scratched the mirror became. I really want to love this product, and my daughter really loves it - but it'd be more helpful if I didn't have to sit and hold the mirror and if there weren't bits of that sticker still on it...
Baby loves mirrors by Harpseal
My son loves any mirror so it was no surprise that he liked this. It isn't very stable on the floor so that's why it got 4 stars instead of 5.
My grandson loves this! by T. Griffith "Griff's
Landon loves to look at the baby in the mirror!! We put it beside him for diaper changes and bath time or just to entertain him when he's laying on the floor. He thinks the baby in the mirror is the greatest thing ever!! Mawmaw happens to think so too!!
Baby's **FAVORITE** toy by justmyopinion
Baby loves this toy!!! He babbles to himself all day long when he's next to this. I've purchased another one to give as a baby gift. Great price ($10)! Great toy!
Daughter really likes the bee, but not mirror by atlmom1
My daughter is almost 4 months old. She doesn't care for the "mirror" since it distorts (maybe because she prefers a real mirror since we put her in front of our dresser mirror while holding her), but loves staring at the bee and sometimes the lady bug.
Great play toy by C. Beres "Wisconsin
Good mirror for tummy time play. I did not give it 5 stars strictly because the velcro tends to stick together and the mirror then falls over...not that big of a deal to undo it and put it back up but still.
Sassy Crib/Floor Mirror by Carol A. Grenier
My 5-month old grandson definitely enjoys looking at himself in the mirror. It sits on the floor but tends to fall over very easily.
Simple yet great buy! by Rebekah Richardson
We purchased this when my son was only a couple months old to put in his crib. It attached easily and quickly to the crib slats with velcro so that it could also be taken down and used for tummy time too. It made both floor time and crib time more enjoyable. Unlike another reviewer, we had no issues with the mirror toppling over or causing too much distortion, although I did check the unit out very well at the store before purchasing because a couple were warped or scratched. It has proven to be very durable and has held up to a lot of abuse. Now that my son is 9 months old, he is still entertained in his crib with this mirror. If he wakes up before us, we can find him sitting up and "talking" to himself in the mirror on a regular basis. I would definitely recommend this mirror to others!
Baby loves it, but doesn't stand up on the floor well by lclaws13
My 4 month old loves looking at himself in the mirror, as well as loves playing with the bugs on it. We've had it about 2 months, and he's enjoyed it the whole time. It doesn't stand up well on it's own, so I've attached it to his play gym, so that when he looks to the side, there's a baby looking back at him.
A MUST for all babies by Sherry
All the baby mirrors that come with the play mats are distorted. This mirror shows baby what she/he really looks like. I would start using crib/floor mirror from day one (maybe two!). It is also great for tummy time because as the baby is able to pick up her head she will see herself in the mirror and it's good motivation. It is free standing which is a plus. The ladybug "middle" spins for further enjoyment and the bee is soft and furry.
Another great Sassy product! by leahmarshall
I ordered this for my 3 month old son so he had something interesting to look at while he was on his tummy. I love this product....Sassy makes such great things for infants. My son really enjoys looking in the mirror and looking at all the colors on the mirror. The bugs that are attached to the mirror will be great for him when he starts to interact more with toys. The mirror is very sturdy when it flips open to stand on the floor. The velcro attachments on the back are too small for our crib rails, but I bought this product only for tummy time usage...so that doesn't bother me. I really like this product and would recommend it to any parent.
My 8 month old grandson loves the mirror but it will not stay standing when he plays with it. It would be nice if it had straps to hold the A-frame in a stable position.
Looks cheap...not worth the money by alexander
The item you get is NOT what is pictured. The two sides are actually sewn togethere so you really can't stand the mirror up on its own...you have to prop it on something. It is made out of cheap material, like ugly nylon. The mirror is hideous and not worth the $10.
tummy time by klnpv
If you have an infant who does not like tummy time, this bright, cute mirror makes it much more tolerable. Plus the round "ball" spins and motivates some reaching and eventually moving forward.
