Editorial Reviews
This busy ball popper is re-imagined into an adorable elephant building off the character of Elefun. Baby will squeal with delight as the balls pop out of the Elephant trunk, onto the floor or through the ears and his belly. With a moveable trunk, mom can now control the level of chase-me play to grow with her child. It includes an easy-press activation button, ten songs and five balls.

Fun for her, work for me. by Starlight
For a child, this toy is alright. It is colorful, has a cute design, and plays music. But I've seen other ball poppin' toys, and in comparison, this one is a pain.
The main problem is the balls do not pop into the ear, which is supposed to catch the balls, then return them to the poppin' part. So the result is, I spend a lot of time chasing the balls around the room and returning them to the toy. The end of the trunk rotates so you can control which way the balls pop out, but even when it is positioned towards the ear, the air flow is variable (intentionally) and the balls still end up rolling on the floor. The intention of this feature is to encourage your child to move, and chase after the ball. But really, what 1-3 year old will do this? Maybe one or two times, but then it becomes like cleaning up. And no child thinks about cleaning up their messes! This toy just makes a mess that I have to clean up, with balls rolling in all directions around the room.
My other main complaint about this toy is the noise. Yes, to have the air flow be powerful enough to spout balls out it has to make some noise, but it is so loud that my child wouldn't even come in the room with it on for the first two weeks! And the music is not catchy. Most playskool toys have really catchy tunes, that I'll be humming through the day. This one has "10" (I can't make out ten distinctive tunes) which are just alright.
And third, the air flow is bad. It is either too much or too little, and the balls end up just hovering at the top of the trunk, so I'll have to grab it, and push the other balls in to get the flow going again, because once it stops, my child usually just walks away. I tried new batteries, but it's the same. A good toy wouldn't require so much interaction from me.
Overall, I give this toy two thumbs down. The concept is there, but it was not developed properly. I am highly suspicious that this toy was created by people without children, who don't understand that kids will get bored if it doesn't work, and they don't like cleaning up!
Fan too loud! by Storey Hieronymus Ha
Our family doesn't have a lot of plastic electronic toys in the house (we prefer wood and educational and we live in a small place), so when this one was given to us we were a little dubious. After trying it for about a week I would say this. The toy is entertaining and good for keeping my 22 month old busy while I'm cooking or trying to get something done, but it is really loud. The music isn't the problem, it's the fan noise. The other reviewers have made a lot of the same observations - the balls get lost easily, the batteries need to be new or else the balls don't pop out of the top, and it isn't particularly educational, but it is well designed and fun for a kid for a while.
playskoll Poppin'Park Eelefun.. it's good by Yumari
is a super fun toy for children of the house, I find very useful as it helps their learning about search and put ls know things in this case the balls .. quite entertaining, it's great..
The vacuum is a bit loud and overpowers the music volume- but overall the balls flying out provide hours of entertainment for a toddler when they figure out how to load it!
The one year old and her sisters all LOVED this toy! They have spent hours playing with it and chasing the balls around!
Adorable! But loud!!! by Michael A. Behr "mab
This popper is absolutely adorable and - for the most part - my two year old LOVES it. My big problem is that it's loud. My little guy is also scared of loud noises, so as much as he loves it, every time he turns on the popper, he runs away in fear! So it's set on automatic: turn on, run away, and then watch (from afar) as the balls go out the nose, into the ear, and back out the nose. Thirty seconds or so go by, the music and blower stop, then run over, turn it on, and run away again...
The fully automated mode isn't foolproof. Sometimes the balls fly in unexpected directions. That's fine though: it's a toy, not a piece of precision equipment.
One special note: I've been extremely impressed at the durability and safety! All sorts of things have been put in the elephant's nose and ear, and we've been able to get them out safely, and never had an injury from putting a little hand or finger where it shouldn't be.
Toddlers love this... by James101
Our first child had a Busy Ball Popper, but a playmate jammed a puzzle piece into it permanently. We wanted another unit for our 18 month old second daughter, and the Elefun seemed much more jam-resistant. It turns out it is, and both our daughters love playing with it just as much as with the Busy popper.
My daughter really enjoys it! by Neal
I'm a first time parent and I appreciate toys that hold my daughter's attention for a little while. My daughter is 22 months old and she enjoys this toy. She loves Elephants (although she cannot really pronounce the word exactly right yet) so this toy is just right for her. I hope others enjoy it as much as she is.
Great for baby and kindergartener, too! by J. Bienstock
When we got this toy, I wondered how it would be for my 10.5 mo old. The different levels made it perfect for him and, surprisingly, my 5 yr old LOVED it too. The sound of the elephant made them both crack up laughing. It's bright and colorful and sturdy so there's no tipping over. The slot for retrieving the balls is a little bit small for my baby to navigate but he's working on it. The music is not annoying, which is a pleasure but it could last longer than it does. The music plays and that's when the balls pop. It's great for teaching cause and effect (you press a big "easy" (like the staples button) to start the music and the air that makes the balls pop)but my baby is a little too young for it yet so it definitely requires adults to start it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this toy b/c I think it will span several years which makes it worth the price.
Our 1 year old twins love this toy! by bluekame
Our 1 year old boy/girl twins love this elephant toy. I bought it for them as their birthday gift. I disagree with the other reviewer that this toy is loud - we have plenty of other toys that are MUCH louder. This is not at all that loud. Also, the sound is on for a short period of time - my husband said that he thinks it should play longer than it does. Our twins have not yet reliably understood that they need to touch the red ball on the hand of the elephant in order to get it to play the various sounds again. I guess volume control would be a nice feature, but it really isn't that loud and doesn't say on long enough to be obnoxious. Then again, I don't get annoyed that quickly from baby toys.
Our twins love this and seem to share with it just fine. Probably the one downside is that they put parts from other toys (like their shape sorter toy) into the snout of the elephant so when some balls don't come up, I check the snout to see if they put other toys in there that shouldn't be in there. Sometimes they also try to put their hands down in the green section, through the hole, to get to the toys in the pouch in the front of the elephant. Fortunately, they don't get their hands stuck and they seem to understand that balls go from there into the pouch so I guess they're learning something ;) They sometimes also take the balls from this toy and try to put them in their shape sorter toy.
We've actually used this as a distraction device because they both love it that well. Tonight, one of the twins tried to turn off the tv while we were watching it so we leaned over and touched the red button on the elephant and both twins immediately scrambled over to get to the elephant.
Overall, I'd consider this product a win and I feel like we are certainly getting our money's worth out of it as our twins love it and play with it multiple times throughout the day. I did see at Toys 'R Us that they had a chart with this toy shown for 9 month olds. The text for this also shows 9 months plus. Our twins are a year old and love this. I don't know if they'd be bored with a few months from now or not. The other reviewer commented that her child showed minimal interest and was 14 months old so maybe that would be around the age where they'd developmentally be interested in other toys?
What did you say?! by Sara L. Richardson
We were given this toy as a gift, in exchange for a review. Granted, we have only had it a couple of days, but some things are clear. My 14 month old shows minimal interest, but I believe she would be really into it, if it wasn't so loud. There aren't any volume controls for the music it makes. I really can't stress enough how loud this thing is. Also, the balls shoot somewhat haphazardly. You can control where they go by moving the elephant's trunk, but it's still a little off.
That being said, I can see where she would grow used to it and eventually get a kick out of it. It is a cute design and isn't ridiculously oversized. The button was easy for my daughter to push. The balls that come with it are a fun and safe size. Decent toy for learning cause and affect.
cheaper at Target by Linda Pruyne
This toy is $20.99 at Target. HALF this price. Compare prices for the best deal. It is also available at Wal Mart for $24.88. Amazon is Way off in pricing for this item.
Disappointment! by Nicole Cunningham
Even with brand new batteries, the balls barely pop out of the trunk. The toy itself doesn't run long enough for my son to put the balls from the tummy return area back to the ear drop and he doesn't get that each time he needs to start it again. Plus, you can barely hear the music over the loud fan. I would not purchase this item again.
Not as much fun as it looks by NicoleinSW
My one year old loves the air machine at the science museum (he loves to catch the balls as they hover over the air), so we thought he would love this toy. Unfortunately, this toy doesn't push the balls out to hover over the trunk like the picture shows. It spits them out to go down the track, you can't really catch them. However, he does love the music, and dances to it. I don't know how he can even hear it over the annoying whine the air machine part of this toy makes. I may be returning it because the noise is hard to take. We got this at Walmart for $25, don't pay the $45 I see it listed at.
We purchased this for our 1 year old for his birthday. I thought it was so cute and thought he would have a blast with it. We sent the 1st one back thinking it was just defective because it didnt work at all. Only made a horrible sound like the batteries were almost dead even though they were new. The second one worked but it never blew out enough air to make the balls pop. They just levatated and he didnt really know what to do. Total bummer and waste of money
Big Disappointment by Dave Johnson
Toy does not operate per the advertisement/commercial. Assembled per instructions. No troubleshooting guide provided. Product documentation was weak and the Playskool/Hasbro call number was not active at 3PM Eastern on a Friday when I received the item and tried to place it into operating condition. Just moments away from throwing this P. O. S. into the trash.
