Great for a 5 year old girl!! by D. Gilbert

I bought this for my daughter for her 5th birthday and she absolutely loved it! Sure I had to help her with some of it but she really enjoyed putting it together and loves the finished product! The stickers are pretty easy for 5 year old fingers to handle and while they adhere nicely you can also take them off if you need to reposition them. Additionally, there are enough extra stickers in case some are lost or misplaced.

I ordered this for my 6-year old daughter, who loves arts & crafts projects. It was perfect for her! She spent hours working on it, with hardly any assistance from me. The instructions were easy for her to follow and the stick-on "jewels" were easy for her to remove from the perforated sheets and apply to the jewelry box by herself. I would highly recommend this product and plan to purchase similar kits for my daughter.

I purchased this for my daughter, and we had a great time putting the stickers on. She's four, and I think that was the perfect time for her to follow the number grid directions - a year ago, she wouldn't have cared and would have just stuck stickers wherever she wanted. That's fun too, I guess! The only problem we had with the box is that the stickers came off relatively easily. They seemed pretty rugged at first but we had a lot fall off. I was very disappointed because it was such a fun project and my daughter was excited about putting her treasures in the jewelry box (the box is fairly rugged as well and would be perfect for little girls). To be fair, my two year old son helped some of the stickers fall off, so if there are no terrible toddlers around, you may be ok. I would buy it again and keep it away from my son! When you put the stickers on, make sure to put them on very firmly. This was hard for my daughter to do, so you may want to just go back and press on each one she puts on. This may help a lot.

My 5-year-old daughter loves art and I love that the sticker art is not messy. She could spend hours doing this stuff. The jewelry box was a lot of fun for her.

I bought this for my little neighbor girl's 7th birthday and she absolutley loved it. It was by far her favorite present at her party. She had all the stickers on it the next morning and actually came over to my house to show it to me. Very cute jewelry box and good value for the money.

Love this jewelry box, and it was fun to put together too by Mrs. Wilson

I worked on this with my preschool child (just turned 5) and she had a great time. It was easy enough for her to follow, and she could have done it all by herself but it was more fun for us to work on it together. The end product is very attractive and appears as if it's going to hold together well.

Update 4/4/2010: Just several months later now, the sticky tiles are falling off slowly but surely. Only a handful have fallen off, but I can honestly say that I am very disappointed in this product. It was such fun to assemble though.

I bought this and also Melissa & Doug Wooden Princess Mirror - DYO for my 7 year old niece. Both gifts were a hit, but this was a little more useful than the mirror as she can hide her "treasures" in it. This is a good introductory jewelry box for a very young girl. It allows her to be creative and personalize it, and the cost is low enough that we didn't worry about how long it would last. She happily used stickers and glue from both products on each other.

Overall, a great gift for any little princess and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

My daughter had a great time putting this together. She's 5 years old and even though it took a little time, she stayed completely interested. I think 5-7 years old is the perfect age for this project.

I discovered these Sticky Mosaic products when I was looking for some gifts for one of my girls, something crafty that required some thought. I found it! So many toys for girls just don't require much thought or skill. These sticky mosaic kits are great because they require a little assembly, number and pattern recognition, fine motor skills to remove and stick the stickers. And then they have a beautiful little butterfly box when they're done and they're so proud of creating it by themselves. The sticky mosaic kits are really engaging and a great project for long airplane or car trips! I think that they're appropriate for age 5 on up (maybe age 4 for some of the simpler versions). Even my older kids love joining in. They make great gifts for girls or boys - for boys they have some dinosaur and pirate themed versions. Such fun!

I bought this for a very smart 7 year old granddaughter. She loves working on it in her spare time. It keeps her interest and looks like it will hold up really well. My five year granddaughter would have a problem the mosaics. She still likes to put stickers on other things. She would rather paint.

Just what I'd hoped for by sassy

Purchased for my 5 y.o. great-niece for Christmas and it was a HIT. Her parents report that this has been her go-to project whenever she has a bit of down time (not sure if she's completed it yet). Have purchased many of the sticky mosaics and have never been disappointed. Sure, some of the stickers don't stay on forever but for the cost and the hours of fun kids get from the kits that's not an issue in my book. Great item.

Fun gift as soon as unwrapped! by littlecove

This was the perfect gift for my little niece. It was the first one she went back to and we were able to open the package and start having fun right away. The instructions are easy - it is like paint by numbers for jeweled decorating! We used the legend and added the jewels to one side and got done pretty fast. Then we took pictures of us with the completed side and she was so happy. It was so easy and looked so great. We decided to do a side a day so that the fun will last even longer. I would definitely recommend to anyone with a little crafter!

And let me say that your child will get a lot of practice in that area as there are around 1,000 stickers available for placement. My 3 1/2 year old received this for Christmas and absolutely loves it but assistance was needed by an adult for number recognition and placement. However, I was very impressed at how much she was able to do on her on and how long she was willing to spend on the project. This says a lot about the item. The stickers have to be placed very close together in some areas which she handled just fine as it was her jewerly box and perfection should not be expected at that age. If you stick with the age range of 5+ you will not be disappointed as this is a great gift for any little girl. This went over so well that I am on here to order the Orb "My First Sticky Mosaics" wall pictures for my daughter that use shape/color recognition for placement and the dragon picture set for my older son. From what I am reading I will stick with the Orb company as the Alex mosaics are not of the same quality.

My daughter received this as a gift for her birthday and loved it! She worked on it independantly a little each day and was so happy with the end result. She has it displayed in her room where she keeps her jewlery and other small items in it. Santa brought this gift to my 7-year-old granddaughter (8 in Feb) and she loved it. It's easy to follow the numbered template on the box and once done, it's very pretty and functional. She finished it in three sessions over a couple of days and seemed to savor the time she spent working on it. The finished box holds some of her jewelry and hair items very nicely.

I bought this product as a gift to my 8 year old granddaughter and she was thrilled. We were so exited to attach the mosaics that we couldn't stop. We saved some of the "work" for her to share with her mom. Would be interested in more products with the sticky mosaics.

I bought two of these for my girls for Christmas, Ages 5 and 8. What I found is that with both of them, they seemed to lose intrest after a while and the craft had to be done in several sessions. There is no problem with that....However, once the boxes were done and added to the girls rooms, they slowly have been re-arranging the stickers on the boxes and putting the little tile stickers on everything else in the house. There are hundreads of them on each box and they are easily removed. So for many months now I have been picking tiny tile or jewel stickers off off everything.....the carpets, my feet, other toys, windows, walls. Pretty annoying. If your child is very particular about making stuff and keeping it "just so" then this would be a great toy. But my kids don't care about messing stuff up. Disappointed.

It suck's that so many people got to enjoy this product, I brought two of these one for my daughter and one for neice. On christmas my daughter couldn't wait to play with the box only to find out that it had a bad odor and had spots of MOLD on it. My neice hasen't opened hers yet but im waiting on word. I guess as long as it comes not molded its good to go.
