I purchased this item to go with the Carnegie scale model dinosaurs for a combined Christmas present for my 3 and 6 year old nephews. WOW, did they love it. The mat offers lots of creative play with the dinosaur models and then you can pack it all up by folding the mat into itself, which creates a box for storage.

I bought this as a second gift to give with a package of dinosaurs. It turned out to be my favorite gift to give. The mat (vinyl) is brightly colored and somewhat padded. The four corners are creased and fold up to form a square box. Then there is a separate lid to pop on the top. There are straps on the sides to keep the lid on. I think for a 3 to 7 year old who likes dinosaurs it is a great gift. They can take the toys with them in the car, to a friends house, outside to play. Having the box and lid, I assume, encourages the child to put their toys in it to carry them around. I only give it 3 stars on durability because it is constructed of cardboard and vinyl.

really like the fact that you can fold the map into a storage box and it is very sturdy and nice to look at when stored away. The grandkids love playing with it and we bought more dinosaurs. HIghly recommend it.

My son (4yrs old) received this as a gift. He loves it! It's very easy for him to fold up and zip. The only drawback is that it said it had 4 dinos. included. We only had 2 in the box. But we had bought a bunch to add anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. The box/play mat is very well done. The colors are true and vibrant. Durable? Heck ya! My son is tough on his things and it's still working for us!

This is the second ZipBin set I have purchased for my grandchildren - this is the Dinosaur playset and I first found ZipBin as a car playset, and there are other ZipBins as well. This toy is a box with a lid that starts out flat but becomes a box by zipping well placed durable zippers. It is a well conceived and colorful toy that comes with dinosaurs plus the bottom of the ZipBin comes out and opens into a flat play mat with a dino habitat. Everything is then stored in the box, and there is room for other toys - more dinosaurs or trees, whatever the play session involved. It is wonderful for traveling because the child puts all the toys in the ZipBin and carries it away easily. If your child or grandchild is already dinosaur crazy, then this toy will just extend and facilitate the pretend play they are already doing - but the clean up and storage make parents very happy.

my nephew loves the Zipbin. He has spent hours playing with it for the last month, he adds his other dinosaurs that are not a part of the set and what's great is that he's not driving my sister in-law crazy with toys to clean up!
This was a gift from Santa Claus and it goes everywhere with my 4 year old son. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was the one very small "pink" colored dinosaur that came with the playset. I went out and bought a group of dinosaurs in a package to put with the playset. It's a great carrying case and for the money, the color is brilliant and case is sturdy. I'd defintely recommend this and suggest to buy some extra dinosaurs if you really want the "wow" effect.

I bought this along with the bucket of dinos for my 6 year old nephew. About an hour after opening these gifts, he disappeared. His mom thought she heard crying in his bedroom. When she looked to see what was going on, my nephew was in his room with all of the dinos and playmat growling and playing with them. He spent at least two hours playing contently with his new stuff. Priceless!! Thanks for a great product!

My little 2 year old loves dinosaurs! This is the perfect toy for him and any child who loves using their imagination and learning about dinosaurs. The playmate is two sided -- one has all sorts of different landmarks for the dinosaurs to "travel" to. The other has a lot of different dinosaurs on it. The BEST feature by far to me as a mom is that this playmate zips up on the 4 corners to make a box AND the top velcros on to make a perfect carrying container for the dinosaurs. It's a win/win for child and parent!

Fed up with stepping on stray dinosaurs (stegosaurus -- ouch!), I ordered this in hopes of containing my 3-year-old son's collection. He loves the playmat, and seems more willing to pick up (most of the time) since he has this special dinosaur bin for his creatures. Very cute idea, and so far it is holding up fine (though the lid has been squashed flat a few times, it still works).

I bought this for my 3 year old son to keep all his dinosaurs in and for something for him to play with them on. He played with his dinosaurs on it for the first day but then lost interest in it. So it is pretty much just used to store his dinosaurs in.

This zip bin is great quality and neat, neat, neat! I ordered this zip bin not knowing what to expect and I was very pleased when it arrived. I purchased this along with the animal planet bucket of dinosaurs and the set fits great in the bin. Converting the bin to a play mat for pretend play is very easy. This zip bin is great for travel as it has carry handles and is easy to wipe down. Great price and product.
I bought this storage box along with "Dozen Jumbo Dinosaurs up to 6 inches long" for Christmas for my 3 year old son. The two toys go perfectly together. Very nice storage box and playmat. Sturdy, easy to fold out and put back together. Its a good size. Overall, a nice gift for any child who likes dinosaurs!
Fun but not as durable as I thought by Mom in VA
I love the idea of being able to store toys in a box that folds out into a play mat. I only wish it was made with something more durable than carboard under the wipe clean surface. The box looks great in his playroom but I put a stuffed musical bear on top and now that side has bent inwards. I was going to buy some other designs but I am afraid if I stack them on top of each other the box will lose its shape. But once we fold out to the play mat feature our son has a blast in his own dinosaur world.

We got this for our dinosaur-crazy 3-year-old last year. He is now four, and still plays with the dinos. Plus, he's taken the whole box of dinosaurs on a car trip, and it all survived. The fact that the storage box is a landscape is brilliant; he has always even liked putting them away, because the zippered box is nifty. Great toy!

My 2-year old and his 4-year old brother love it. The playmat feels thick and durable. The straps are strong like the kind on duffle bags. You probably wouldn't want to cart bricks in it, but for plastic dinosaurs it is more than adequate. The boys love playing with it open as a playmat, then putting the dinsosaurs to bed. Finally we have a home for all the little dinosaurs.
My boys (3 & 1) love dinosaurs. Someone gave this to my 3 year old for his birthday. He thought it was really cool to put all his dinos in one place and then car it around. It is perfect for the car on long road trips. Fits right between our two carseats. It has been 4 months and the sides will not stay up. It collapses in every different direction even with the sides zipped and the lid will not stay on. It is about to go in the trash. Over priced in my opinion. I might pay $5 for it.

My two-year-old, dinosaur-obsessed son received this from my sister a year ago for Christmas, and has used it almost daily ever since. I'd seen it myself in the toy store (Toys R Us sells these, plus a similar one for farm animals) but I figured it would fall apart pretty quickly, since it is really just a well-decorated canvas bin. I could justify buying it, so I didn't.
I'm here to tell you, I was WRONG about the quality.
He has climbed on this thing, sat on it, stacked heavy toys on top, swung it around by the handles, stuffed it to overfilling and slammed the lid on, worn it like a hat... you name the type of abuse, this thing has taken it.
He's very into Dinosaur Train, and the bin easily holds all of the track and figures from that plus the dozens of regular dinosaurs he's picked up here and there -- probably about fifty to sixty animals all together -- and it's not full yet! No complaints about size. When we were planning a three-week visit out of state, it was the perfect size to use as a portable toybox for the random stuff he wanted to take along.
As far as the printed playmat area, he has never really had much interest in the terrain aspect of it. For the first couple of months he had it, he'd occasionally build up a barrier of blocks or something in front of the cave and pretend his dinosaurs were ganging up on "a scary cave monster", but the novelty eventually passed, and I can't say he's used it as a playmat for quite a while now. Again, though, he uses this just about every day -- so maybe it's just that he got tired of it and played himself out. Another kid might stay entertained with that for longer, given less frequent use.
He's played with it roughly from age two to now three-and-a-half, and the thing still has its firm shape, but no sharp edges, frays, breaks, bends, or tears. He's been able to handle the zipper on his own for a long time and has no trouble folding it back up from completely flattened by himself, either.
I'd have never bought this on my own, just thinking it was a glorified box; but in the end, I'm sure glad his aunt did! He loves it, and it has definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of durability. Can't believe I'm on here writing a glowing review of a box, but I am. This one's good enough to make me.
Wow, this toy was shipped in record time. Came in just one day. I was shocked when I opened the box. I was wondering what the delivery guy was delivering. Didn't think it could be the toy because I had just ordered it the night before. Much to my amazement it was the toy. It is a birthday gift for a little boy who loves dinosaurs so I know he'll love it and can carry them wherever he goes. Great vendor. Exceeded my expectations. I was wowed.
I purchased this gift for a birthday party for a 3 year old. He loved this gift. This was one of the bes gifts he received. It's very colorful and a great concept. I will be buying more of these in the near future. My son will be getting one for Christmas. He has a ton of dinosaur toys and now he will have a special place to put them and play with them.

I purchased this for my son's fifth birthday, and he LOVES it. It's a very simple, intuitive product that allows him to keep all his stuff together and play with it all over the house. He loves the process of keeping the dinosaurs in there, unzipping and zipping, carrying it around, storing it...it's really a great item.

This is an awesome product. I have seen other sizes and prints out there as well. I would recommend this to any parent and am thinking about buying one for every kid I know! Great way to store toys and play with them and easy to wash (by hand) as well!

I bought this for my boyfriend's 3 year old nephew and he loves it! I bought a set of dinosaurs (separate) so that he could play with them and use the landscape. Afterwards we folded it up and stored the dinosaurs in the box. I think this came with a couple of dinosaurs but it would be nice if there was a good amount (like 6 or more different kinds of dinosaurs).

Used this as a gift box for our grandson's dinosaur birthday gift. We added some artificial greens to the box as "cover" and he loved it all!
We got this for our son last Christmas and he loved it then and still loves it. We got a few bins of dino's to go into it and he playes with it every single day! We took it on 2 airplane trips with us and camping 4 times this summer and it never gets old. It is still holding up quite well and we have not had any experience with anything rubbing off of it and we have put it to it's test! When I say we have taken it on the plane a few times I mean across the entire country and when I say it's held up camping 4 times this year I mean camping in a tent for 4 days at a time in the great Alaska wilderness. It has been drug across beaches, through the forest and thrown around a boat and it still looks bran new and he still loves it as much as he did Christmas morning. It's for sure his go to toy (filled with dino's of course.)

I love this little case, as does our 4 year old. She likes to make believe with dinosours a lot and this starts the stage for more imaginative play. I love the ease of it to zip up and the velcro on the lid. When we travel on trips we fill this with animals and some books. It's just the right size to fit between the two car seats in the back.

This was a Christmas present for a 3 yr old boy and he loved it. It has a design on both sides of the box, so it's like having two geographies in one. It will hold a bunch of toys when zipped up and is really easy for them to zip and unzip themselves.

Arrived on time, as described, great price! I bought his for my 4-year-old nephew for his birthday- he loved it! He's in a dinosaur phase, so all the dino toys he got for his birthday fit perfectly into this zip-up box, plus it gave him a very cool place to play with them. Hands-down his favorite item. I bought this case for my two year-old nephew when I bought him a set of dinosaurs to play with. I think my sister was more glad to have it because it has really helped keep his play area clean. When he is done playing with his dinos, he knows to put them all back in the case. He also loves to dump the dinos out, fill the case with his cars and then carry them around. He isnt old enough yet to unzip the case and use the play mat, but I am sure the case is durable enough to last until he does start using it in that way.

As a peditriac speech language pathologist and mom to a 1 and 2 year old, this is such a great toy! Keeps playroom a bit neater, teaches kids to categorize, inspires imaginative play and is durable. We do a great deal of car traveling and this has been a great toy. Would highly recommend these zip bins as therapy materials or gifts!!
I bought this for my four year old son who is obsessed with Dinosaurs. He absolutely loves it. The great thing about it is that he can keep all of his dinosaurs in it. Unzip it, have a play area then an easy clean up by just zipping up the sides with the dinosaurs in it. The only thing is that it only comes with a few tiny dinosaurs. So make sure you buy some to put in it.
My two year old son was thrilled when he opened this gift at Christmas. I was even more thrilled at the joy it brought my son. Was amazed that it fit all his dinosaurs in it as well. Highly recommend this for any dino lover.

Bought this for a four-year-old boy who is totally into dinosaurs. It comes packaged flat but quickly zips up into a box for dinosaur storage, and then unzips flat for a playmat. I bought a tube of dinosaurs to complement this playset. I would buy it again.

Purchased this for Christmas for a 3 year old girl who is into dinosaurs right now. She loves it. I also purchased additional dinosaurs and a real nice dinosaur book that was recommended by Amazon.com which was very colorful and great pictures. She loves it. She has a lot of fun pretending and setting up the scene on the mat. The mat is cool as it is a scene with water and mountians that dinosaurs would have roamed in and you can place the dinosaurs on the mat and play. Parents love that everything fits inside the bin for easy pick up and travel if they wish to take it to grandparents.
