My daughter loves bubbles and so I bought this gun for her. However, the bubble conainer seal needs to be improved as 3/4 of the soap solution had leaked from the container and stained the bubble gun package (not a good first impression). Upon loading the soap canister and running the device, soap solution initially leaked out of the handle (did not happen afterwards). The seller was kind enough to send two free canisters of soap solution in 2 days! The gun shoots light at the bubbles and generates a ton of bubble. Love the gun now ! Just keep it away from your kid as dropping it willl cause the batteries to pop out of the unit (recommend battery compartment lid latch be made a bit tighter). Would recommend (even after the initial experience). Worth the price.
Great for the price by armywife07
Although the gun arrived with damaged packaging (one of the bubble bottles leaked through the package and the envelope had to be re-sealed by the post office), I have been impressed with the gun. My 2 year old loves it and now wants to play with it everytime we go outside. I just refill the bottle with solution from the store and it lasts about 1/2 hour per bottle.
I did have to play with it to get it to load the solution into the gun the first time, and once since then I have had to fix it again. I just put my finger where the solution comes out of the top and the tubing gets suction to pull the fluid up.
I would definately but it again or as a gift for someone else. It does produce a lot of bubbles quickly. I've had it about a month without any real issues.
It pays to know your audience by Joseph Haschka
My wife and I are communally owned by three cats. One of them, Sissy, is fascinated by anything we do, and anything can potentially be a toy. She has great fun swatting soap bubbles manually made the old-fashioned way by blowing through the ring of a bubble wand. That is, we blow and she swats; we wear out before she does. So, when we saw a mechanical bubble gun being used by bunch of kids, we thought it just the thing to entertain Sissy without too much expended effort on our part.
The LIGHT UP LED TRANSPARENT BUBBLE GUN arrived ready to fire with a 50mL container of "Bubble Water" and three AA batteries already installed in the gun's grip.
It should be no surprise that the gun and bubble water are manufactured in ... China. For the record, a small sticker on the side of the weapon indicates that it was QC'd at the manufacturing site by "09". 007 was apparently on a secret mission and otherwise occupied.
The gun's housing, as advertised, is completely transparent. The "light-up" feature is accomplished by three LEDs spaced along the long axis of the top of the "barrel" inside the housing; they sequentially flash green, blue and red when the trigger is pulled. At the front tip of the device, also inside the housing, a blue LED at the position of a front sight continually lights-up when the trigger is pulled, as does the ring structure of the bubble generating assembly, which glows green.
Sissy was immediately fascinated as we removed the toy from its packaging; she was ready to party.
After screwing the bottle of Bubble Water into its receptacle at the front of the gun and pulling the trigger, we first thought we had a defective product. Only one of the LED lights lit-up, and the gear wheels that pump soap solution through the internal tubing didn't turn. Thinking the batteries in place had weakened over time, we replaced them with three, charged rechargeable batteries even though cautions on the packaging state: "Non rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged" and, more to the point, "Do not use rechargeable batteries." In any case, the forbidden replacements only lit up the three LEDs along the barrel's top and failed to get the gears wheels turning. At this point, the wife was prepared to send the thing back and/or ask for a refund. But, I'm made of sterner stuff, and one must keep Sissy happy or she becomes incorrigible.
I made a special trip to the store to buy a fresh pack of non-rechargeable, brand-name, copper-topped AAs. Once these were inserted, the gun worked - a fact that deflected both a nasty email to the distributor, Flashing Panda in Campbell, CA, and a "0 star" heading to this review. Lucky for them!
The toy's instructions state: "Squeeze and hold down the trigger a few times to start." This is true for the first use and any subsequent use where the gun hasn't been fired steadily. Presumably, the internal tubing that carries the soap solution to the bubble generating ring must re-prime. Once you get it going, though, it puts out a steady stream of bubbles that will satisfy the most demanding user. Sissy is demanding, and she is absolutely thrilled.
Another instruction states: "After use, rinse water through toy." This is probably a good idea; such preventative maintenance will likely stave-off at least some of the complaints coming from other reviewers who claim that this toy (or ones similar) suddenly stopped firing bubbles.
The packaging of the BUBBLE GUN displays some interesting statements too good not to mention:
"I'm your lovely friend. Take me home." This is perhaps directed at impressionable 5-year olds. In my experience as an adult male, it usually only comes from "working girls."
"As good as a play." Really? Definitely better, though, than some plays my wife has dragged me to see.
"Collect them all." You mean there's more than one? Perhaps a shotgun model.
"For ages 3 and up." Happily, Sissy at four meets this requirement. Can't have the Toy Police swooping-in to confiscate the thing.
As for the other cats, Amanda and Rags:
Amanda is old and grumpy (like me); pull the toy's trigger and she simply stalks away in disgust. Rags, about Sissy's age, is the shy one; just the noise of the gun doing its thing sends her fleeing under the bed.
It pays to know your audience.
P.S. 7/21/11: I'm reducing my original 4-star award to three. The bubble gun's output has become considerably less even though it seems to be pumping and lighting-up as it should, and I've rinsed the line with water after every use. Perhaps it's because I've replenished the original "Bubble Water" with another brand of bubble solution, though I can't see why that should make any difference. It's a mystery.
Broke after 1hr of use by Chad Ryan Alexander
It worked great until the bubbles ran out; about 1 hr. I added new bubbles and it stopped working.
I bought this gun after buying another one that was just crap. This gun works immediately! I would definitely buy again.
Best thing out for a parent who's tired of blowing bubbles by LuvByrd
my toddler loves bubbles and she will go on forever playing with bubbles if she could. i would start getting light-headed after a while from blowing bubbles the regular way so this gun is perfect. she loves the lights as well.
Light Up LED Transparent Bubble Gun by ssenn
This is a fun bubble gun, however, after 3 weeks the gun did not function. I replaced the batteries and that helped until the bottom of the battery holder broke. It was obviously not made well.
bubble gun works great - so easy for our grandson to get the bubbles and have fun touching and watching them. Enjoy.
This is a very good toy, come with good packaging, and fast delivery. My 8 yrs old daughter love this toy. it has 2 bubble liquid packaged which is very nice.
Light up LED Bubble Gun by Rachael
I purchased these for my kids. They arrived quickly in the mail. My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It still works. Received for Christmas, its now Jan 7th. The bubbles are gone, but we will be making more. LOVE IT!!
Do not invest your money in this. It worked for a minute and broke. What a let down for a child on there birthday!
TINY BUBBLES AND BIG ONES TOO! SMILES ALL AROUND by Jersey Shore Judy "J
Six of my grandchildren received these for Christmas as a gift from their Uncle. There were bubbles and delighted children everywhere we looked! Such a lot of joy for so small an investment. Of course a couple of the kids didn't heed the instruction to keep the gun level, thereby becomming a bit drippy. In general, when they are having the most fun, kids can be messy. It would probably be prudent to use these outside the house if possible. Adults have a good time with this item and play right along with the younger ones.
" Awesome and plenty fun. The key to getting it to work when it stops, is to press the trigger briefly a few times to GET THE AIR OUT! People don't realize this and say it doesn't work. This is a blast and visually so cool with the lights. It shoots TONS of bubbles. You"ll be the hit of the party if you have this bubble gun. Love it! Even comes with batteries ready to go. "
Granted it's not expensive, but I got this gift for Santa to give to my son at a holiday party. Unfortunately it did not work for us; the lights came on, but the bubbles didn't work. My son still loved the lights though, so at least he didn't know what he was missing. I would try another bubble dispenser.
Just as advertised by agoutimouse
This is the third bubble gun I bought. The first brand was broken before I even used it once, and the second brand broke within a week. So far this bubble gun is working just as I hoped it would. My daughter who is 14 months always wants me to blow bubbles and I can't say no to her cuteness. I get tired of blowing after a while but she keeps asking for more bubbles. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now with just a click of a trigger hundreds of bubbles come out within 10 seconds. It takes a little while for the first bubbles to come out, but after that, they bubbles flow great. In fact, if I had any criticism, it would be that there are too many bubbles that come out too quickly, which leads to using up more bubble solution than is probably necessary. I would probably prefer larger bubbles and less of them, then hundreds coming out so fast. But my daughter loves it and that's what matters!
I bought this from a vendor at a street fair on a whim.
Our senior center is doing a production that includes a Lawrence Welk skit.
This thing blows hundreds of bubbles. I need to get a couple more so we have
TOO many bubbles for the show.
I was so excited to get this bubble gun and bought it despite some of the negative reviews. I should have listened. The gun never worked. You could hear the motor running but no bubbles ever came out. I've sent it back requesting a refund.
cheap and easily broken by Betty Boop "betts"
Worked fine at first-but flimsy and easily broken-as soon as you have to refill the bubble bottle it starts making noise when you pull the trigger. Then it started leaking because when you tighten the bubble jar onto the unit it cracks the inside seal causing air to get in and it no longer produces bubbles. Don't bother with this one.
Fun bubble gun by bubble tea "reganofc
It's a junky inexpensive toy but lots of fun. Works very well, and can be refilled with Gazillion bubble solution.
Didn't last very long by lanee
I bought 2 of these bubble guns for my granddaughters. One worked OK from the start the other was hard to get bubbles flowing. Eventually it started working, but quit within a couple of days. We had purchased some of these guns at a 4th of July celebration, they too quit working quickly.
Doesn't work as advertised by PAPA
This was purchased for my granddaughter. It only creates bubbles every so often. You have to really mess with it to get it to make bubbles. When it does work my granddaughter loves it, unfortunately that is not often enough.
A brilliant product for the price! by Tien Tzi
I don't expect much out of electronic products under $10 but was pleasantly surprised at the engineering, the "cool" factor, overall effectiveness of this product. Produces a LOT of bubbles (though small, IMO more appropriate for just a few kids w/little wind or for indoor use -- other products better for bigger bubbles and more kids). Is convenient to use, easy to clean, and allows me to easily entertain our twins and visitors w/little fuss before or after the fun. A pleasant surprise given the price relative to all the other electronic gadgets I've purchased over the years in this price range. One suggestion: The little motor running the fans and pump works pretty hard -- not aware that anyone has ever experienced any problems with it yet, but I don't plan on using this more than 15 mins or so at a time w/o a break -- I suspect that if you run this gadget continuously for too long it may burn out.
Starts Awsome but Doesn't last by Anthony C. Hurst "DC
We got it and opened it and loved it but we had two problems. When the kids dropped it the battery hold in flap broke off. I taped it all back together so it worked again but then it doesn't work with a few other kinds of bubble soap. You need premium bubble soap to get it working. It is a good toy for an adult to use with thier kids, but a bad toy to give to kids to use themselves.
I saw this similar item while working at the San Joaquin County Fair. They seller wanted $15 for one bubble gun. I started to check the internet and found this very similar item on your site for half the price and I bought two. Let me say that these bubble guns work great compare to the cheap one from walmart or Target. Thank guys for a great product.
light Up Led Transparent Bubble gun by sue
I ordered two bubble guns. One worked very well. However the second one was very temperamental and then stopped working. the one that stopped working was flustering to the 3 year old. The one that worked was wonderful. I believe that my son will send it back to be replaced so the boys can enjoy them together. I rated this very high as the one that worked was great!
My son is 2 and it is hard for him to blow bubbles himself, so it was always up to Mom or Dad to blow them. Then I saw this and thought I would give it a try. He loves it! It is a favorite toy for sure. He is able to use it by himself and it creates LOTS and LOTS of bubbles. He's taken it to the park and it is always a hit with the other kids, too. We just wish it held more bubbles, but we keep extra handy to refill.
This bubble gun toy was exactly what I expected. The only thing is the unit should not be dropped. It will break because of the model being plastic. My grandson dropped it and a piece of plastic broke off but it still worked.
Great Customer Service by Angel
I had a little trouble getting the guns to work at first. Customer Service called me and walked me through it and the guns are still blowing crazy bubbles today. I would recommend this company and would order from them again myself.
After about 5-6 uses (over about 3 days), it just stopped working.
(When it worked) every time, it took few minutes of triggering before it even starts generating bubbles.
poorly made dino gun by Anita Break "Anita"
This review is for the Dino Bubble Gun....As soon as we opened the gun, we saw that the dino head was in 2 pieces. Could not fix it, so tried tape since my grandson was so excited to play with it. It lasted about 5 minunets, and the bubbles only worked some of the time. A very poorly made toy. I do NOT recommend it.
My two year old son received this product as a gift. He loved and for the two days that it worked. In that time I had to change the batteries twice. I would not waste my money on this product.
Junk and dangerous by K. Nam "Alex"
My daughter dropped it as soon as I handed it to her(and she's 2 so not too far from ground). It shattered into gazillion pieces. Dangerous and just a piece of junk. I bought 2 and I wouldn't even let the kids open the other one. It went straight into the garbage. I have no idea how it does with bubbles cause we never made it that far.
Bubble blower guns by Debra M. Mills
I ordered these and they came as promised. They are Christmas gifts....so can only hope as well as they did in Disneyworld where we saw them.
