I just received this to replace an earlier set I had. That set is also shown on Amazon, and is much duller in color and variety. However, this newer set I received is identical to that one. It has three colors for the six chicks, and the outside egg faces are all in brown. I wanted this set because it appears the company has improved on it with six different colors on the chicks and matching face colors on the egg toppers. My biggest frustration is receiving an item that is so different from the representation in the pictures. I suspect that this page shows the newer version, but the older version is being shipped out until it is gone.

Good First Year Birthday Present by PAT

Got this for my granddaughter's first birthday. She has lots of fun putting the eggs in and out of the egg carton; pushing them up and down so that they "peep" and taking the egg tops off and then putting them back on. Her little finger can push the eggs up and down without any problem to make the "peep". The tops of the eggs fit all eggs. As she gets older, she can advance to match the top of the egg face with the face on the chicken. Also, there are shapes on the bottom of the eggs that must be matched with the shape on the bottom of the carton. Good buy. A different toy for her, as she has other baby toys from her older two brothers.

I generally avoid plastic toys and particulary anything Made In China, however we received these as a baby shower gift and I sort of forgot about them until my son was about 9 mos old. I threw them in the toybox and to my surprise he LOVES THEM. He is 15mos now and still enjoys these because they are appropriate for a variety of development ages and stages. He progressed through holding and squeaking them, opening and closing the carton, piling the eggs in with no order, learning to put the shells on, and now finally matching the shapes on the egg bottoms to the shapes in the carton, and soon I expect he will recognize the different facial expressions.

I belong to a mother's group and two other moms purchased these for their babies/toddlers after seeing much fun they have with them. Also, the price cannot be beat. These are surprisingly durable and the squeak is pretty mellow and husky sounding. The colors are nice, but there aren't too many colors and they are not garishly bright so it lessens over-stimulation.

Frankly, I cannot believe I am recommending these but these are an excellent gift for a one-year-old and provide entertainment and educational amusement for hours. Plus the babies love to pass them back and forth and share which is nice for parallel play.

at first i thought these were kinda useless bc the noise they make is not all that entertaining BUT my 1 year old and 3.5 year old love them in the play kitchen fridge. simple and affordable toy for lots of fun in our home.

The picture shows colorful egg faces and 6 different colored chicks. I received eggs with dull brown faces and 3 dull colored chicks. And they dont really make much of a squeaking noise. Will be returning it.

Both my 18 month old and 3.5 year old enjoy playing with this toy. The only downside is that they can't open the yellow egg carton. Still a great toy!

They're definitely not the same color as shown. The faces on the shells are brown, but the chicks inside are purple, blue and orange (not all brown or 70's colors like other people said). The box is easy to open also (a lot of other reviews said it was hard to open, maybe they changed it since?).

I bought them for my 6month old and she loves them. They are super easy to squeek (and not loud) so she can get them to do it usually. She brought them to daycare and even the older kids like them and ask where the eggs are if we don't bring them. They're one of the best toys especially for the money.

This was a wonderful find. I had never heard of these before. And, they stretch a wide age band to enjoy. We first gave these around 10 months & they were an immediate favorite. There is something about putting the eggs in & out of the little plastic container as well as putting the 2 sides of the eggs together that the babies love.

They are really cute & easy to keep clean. You can take them anywhere as they are compact; however, be careful not to lose any halves of the eggs.

There are no sharp edges & they are the perfect size for little hands. I would say these are indestructible as they are very durable.

What is really neat about these eggs is how educational they are. Each egg has a different pair of eyes painted on them & they have a corresponding/matching egg top that they have to match or pair up. Also, the bottum of each egg is a different shape including: triangle, circle, star, square, cross/plus sign, and a heart. Each shape fits into a certain slot in the carton. This is how we taught these basic shapes & pretty quickly.

NOTE: obviously, it takes time for them to learn to match the eyes, shapes, etc & is why this toy stretches out for a wide age span which is nice. It grows w/ them until they learn all of this.

They also have the cutest little squeak when you press down on them.

Best of all no batteries or anything loud. Just pure thoughtful fun.

I now give this as a 1 year old gift b/c for some reason, like myself, no one has heard of these. I haven't seen a baby not immediately go to these.

Hopefully these will be found by more people b/c they are wonderful in so many ways.

Appeals to more than just babies by ColoradoMom

I bought these after seeing an incomplete set at a relatives house. My two and four year olds are both in love with these eggs. They are very cute and sturdy. And I've gotten a few complements from people wanting to invest in some for daycare/play groups. The shipping did take several weeks, so plan ahead. Worth the wait though!
