Ummm... Nothing Special by April Hagopian
Crayons are ok. The glitter does go onto the picture being colored, but is nothing to write home about. builds up on the tip of the crayon making it hard to color with after a while. Wouldn't buy it again.
These crayons are lovely, but are all covered with the same blue wrapper paper, making it very hard to tell the color of each one before using it. It would be nice if the crayon wrappers' color was the same as the crayon color, and if the name of the color was printed on each wrapper. Very nice crayons though.
Crayola DOESN'T Sparkle by Mom of 2 "Shelley"
We bought these crayons pre-release at the crayola factory. The colors are wonderful but the glitter does not show up even when you color the same area several times as recommended. We bought these to go with a birthday gift, but after trying them, we decided that they would be too disappointing. That said, my daughter, who is 4, enjoys the crayon colors very much even though they do NOT sparkle. We also bought dry-erase crayons for her white board and that is a wonderful product.
Great idea but poor performance. by auburnmi
These were somewhat of a dissapointment. Suprisingly the glitter shows up best in the light colors but is barely noticeable in the darker colors. Kids were a little let down with them.
Glitter Crayons 16-Pack by Steve G
Bought a couple of packs for an elementary school classroom and it was a disappointment. There isn't a whole lot of glitter in these things, way less than in the ones of a different brand that we had previously used. Unusual for Crayola to make such a poor product, but so it goes...
Not very glittery. by boobeepboo
my daughter doesn't even recognize that there is any difference between these crayons and regular crayons. and rightfully so, you need a microscope to see anything shimmery. it's a cool idea, but it fails. the glitter doesn't seem to expel from the crayon at all, and instead only causes skips on the page. love crayola, and most of their products are great. this one however, is a dud.
Glitter sticks to end by Julia Lingwall
I got these crayons for my daughter who fell in love with a friend's "sparkly crayons." She had a lot of fun with them when they first arrived, but hasn't used them much since. The glitter builds up on the end of the crayon until no color comes off when you use it on paper. Periodically I scrape the excess off with my fingernail and it works again until the next build up. The crayons themselves are of the quality you would expect from Crayola, however they call come wrapped in blue paper. I don't know why they couldn't color code the paper they way they do with EVERY other product.
Good idea, poor execution by Jane Doe "Jane"
I love the idea of these crayons, as I have a young daughter who loves all that glitters. Unfortunately, you really have to lean on the crayons to get any glitter off and onto the paper. Even I have a hard time getting glitter on the paper. Another problem is that the glitter accumulates at the end of the crayon, making it even more difficult to get colour onto the page. Very frustrating all around. I just threw ours away for that very reason. I'll stick with glue sticks and glitter shakers to get glitter onto drawings.
My kids love coloring! by S. Hall "twilightfan
My children love coloring, and the added glitter to these crayons just make coloring pictures so much better and enjoyable!
A gift for our granddaughter. They're crayons so it's hard to rate them as far as "educational value," "durability," and "fun." I think she'll think they're cool because they're sparkle crayons and she's very creative.
Glitter crayons too brittle??? by D Banana
My daughters already had a pack of these, but they were all broken, so I bought them another pack. My kids are not especially hard on toys. 12 of the crayons were broken within a week, some twice. The glitter on the page is nice, but for some reason they seem to break much easier than regular crayons. Don't think I will buy them again.
Not All That Glitters Is Gold... by E. Kennedy
Sometimes it's all the colors of the rainbow! These crayons are great. I'm always a bit iffy about glitter crayons after getting one too many packs as a child that didn't color well. This pack was an extremely pleasant surprise. It colored well and you get a great variety of colors. I always maintain that you're never too old to color!
My kids wanted some glitter crayons and they use these all the time. A good size box for the car & travel. Nice assortment of colors.
Fast and Good Value by Intntlfam
I bought these crayons for my niece to give to her with a coloring book. My sister said she loved them. I thought it was a cute alternative to plain crayons. I'm giving this product 4 stars based on the good price (better than all the competitor's prices I saw and no shipping charge) and the fast delivery (It made it there 2 days after ordering).
These crayons don't really seem much different from regular crayons, but my 6 year old still liked them. They work fine, just nothing special.
Crayola Glitter Crayons by M. Kelley
This is the only thing my 5 year old granddaughter asked for at Christmas time. She loves anything that glitters, and now she loves drawing and coloring more than ever. It's a very good, inexpensive item, that any child would have fun with. Great product!
A little spendy but good overall by Matt Corder
These were also bought to go with the Crayola Crayon Maker. It's funny how you can't find these in stores, only online. Again, I thought the price was a little steep for crayons but since they were for a Christmas present I splurged. Perfect for the intended purpose.
All that Glitters is not gold by Marion A. Knott
The kids love the glitter produced by these crayons. My grandaughter was with us in a gallery and while we "shopped and looked" the proprietor had these crayons. She loved them so much so I searched them out. I could only find them online. Last Thursday I saw them in Duane Read.
Not Bitter About the Glitter by Amy Steele "quirky m
My daughter discovered these crayons during the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year. I finally found them at Target after months of looking, right above the coloring books in the children's book section. They are about $2.00 at Target. They are easy to use (we do not have to struggle with these...maybe some people got lemons?); and any glitter buildup is removable with a flick of your trusty, ol' fingernail. Why people are freakin' about the fact that the wrappers are all the same shade of blue, I do not know. Um, you can see the crayon tip and a small portion of the bottom- both of these areas reveal the color, unless someone at the Crayola factory is biting off the tips and bottoms before transport to retail stores. And I do not care that the color names are not on the wrappers...I am thirty-seven and able by now to tell my three-year-old what color each crayon is. It is interesting to discuss different hues with the younger set, and I love wondering whether or not we all see colors in the same way (great way to discover if your kid is colorblind). Besides, have you ever purchased a Crayola product with the color names created by kids? Call me an ogre, but the names are terrible and totally ruin my trip down memory lane.
