5Nice accessories but the purse itself fails miserably by Jessica M. Davis

I recieved this purse as a birthday gift for my one year old after having considered buying it myself many times. The accessories that come with it are cute and fun. The lipstick rattles, the money crinkles, there's a bracelet to wear and mirror to look in, and the keys attach to the front of the purse.

The purse itself is awkward and bulky and barely opens enough to see inside. Not that you'd want to, because the inside is all seams and screws and ugliness. The purse doesn't stay opened or closed that well, it flops back and forth. The switch to change modes is difficult even for me to set on the right mode, and frankly it doesn't teach or sing that much. A few words and couple songs.

A regular (non-electronic) purse with the same accessories would be great. My daughter likes putting other things in the purse and taking things out so I think I will get her a normal toy purse to keep the accessories in to carry around and she can play with this purse every once in a while.

All in all I am neutral on this product. The accessories are cute but the purse isn't impressive.

5CUTE, CUTE CUTE! by Sheryl E. Magee

My one year old granddaughter got this for her first birthday! How cute! She LOVES it! LOVES CARRYING IT AROUND! Kisses herself in the mirror! LOL Little zipper on front makes "zipper" sound. Makes clicking (closing) sound when closed, educational songs, etc. Even w/o the educational features, it is so much fun (and safe) for a little girl's first purse. What you would expect from Fisher Price.

5Wonderful toy! by SAHMommy to 2

We love this toy. We got it for our daughter who is nearly 1 year old and it is just adorable. The purse plays music and my daughter dances to the music. She loves to play with the mirror and bracelet in particular. My daughter spends a lot of time putting things into her purse and taking them back out again. My daughter is on the young side for this toy, but she enjoys it and I know that it will grow with her. You won't be disappointed.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat. What a great toy!

5One of My Daughter's Favorite Toy. Perfect for 1-2 y.o. by Jacob Hantla "hantla

In my household and in the only other one where I have seen this Laugh & Learn Purse used, it has been a huge hit. As I am writing this, my 1.5 year old daughter grabbed it and started zipping the zipper back and forth laughing out loud as the purse giggled. This seems like a perfect gift/toy for a 1 year old girl. My daughter's used it for 6 months and it has held up and she still loves it.

This purse comes with some fun accessories including money, mirror, lipstick, bracelet, and keys. My daughter spends probably an hour each day taking these items (and many others that she's added to the collection) out of the purse and putting them back in.

Her favorite part, is that each time you open the purse or zip the zipper it will play a song, make a noise, or talk about what is going on depending on which of the 3 options you have selected. There is also a silent option, which is a welcome feature after a while.

5WARNING! Check pieces carefully, my baby cut her lip within mins of getting this gift. by @homemom

My 8 month old daughter just received this as a gift, she was seated playing with the pieces and obviously mouthing them as all babies her age would and after a few mins she started screaming, immediately I saw she had a bleeding and cut bottom lip! I'm not sure which piece caused the injury (which thankfully wasn't bad, but did bleed) but I suspect it was the little lipstick. If you look at it you can see that it's two pieces attached together, the seam isn't super tight and I suspect she caught her lip in the groove between the pieces. Since it was a gift and I destroyed the packaging getting it out I'm unable to return it but I will be throwing out the lipstick and I'm unsure as of right now if I'll let her play with the rest (everything else seems to be a solid piece, besides the actual purse obviously). Maybe a fluke but do proceed with caution.

5My Daughter Loves It by L. owens "L.S.Owens"

My daughter got this for her first birthday, she loved it when she got it and she loves it now and she just turned two. She stores all kinds of things in it. It has held up really well. Not really sure it qualifies as educational but it is fun.

5My granddaughter loved it by L. Chism

I bought this for my granddaughter and it has become here favorite toy.She loves it so much I had trouble getting her to put it down to come to the table and eat.She looks so cute carrying it and acting "grown".

5Daughter loves it! by raisingkids4God "rai

My daughter is 18 months now, and she got this for her first birthday. She play with it every day! She loves the sounds, the items that go in, and of course, putting them in and taking them back out. The only thing even remotely negative is that the bag opening isn't all that wide, and when she was younger, it was really hard for her to get the items back in. It's really sturdy, so if you have a little one that likes to swing and hit things, beware!

5LOVED my pretty learning purse by peggy a christensen

Our 9 month old daughter was getting bored with her toys so I ordered it and sent it to her. Her mom said she loved it!

5Baby's First Purse by Kitten

My father got this for my daughter, who is almost a year old. She is always in my purse and diaper bag and loves to dump my wallet out. She was very excited about her purse, so much so that it was hard for me to unpack it. She loves to take everything out and put it all back in. I would like to see a toy cell phone included, since my daughter and several other babies I know love cell phones. Right now, she has my old cellphone and it's in her purse too. All in all, it's a cute toy.

5I love the music! by Katie Lynn

My daughter is 6 months old, and I got her this purse because it is one of the few that actually says ages 6+ months. My daughter can't open the purse yet, or make it talk and sing (except on accidental occassion), she does love playing with the purse items. In particular, she loves the money because it crinkles, and the mirror. She also loves when it sings music, although my husband is a little disturbed that one of the songs says "look into the mirror, put my lipstick on" or something to that effect lol. My only complaint, is that it would be nice if the purse opened up a little wider to put things into. It is a little stiff and akward for smaller children, in my opinion. I usually don't buy "learning toys" either, but my daughter likes the music so much... I've been thinking of buying her something more interactive with sound for her age, so this particular toy changed my "anti-learning toy" mind because my daughter enjoys it so much.

5Not to excited or impressed... by Beth Stafford

Neither my 14 month old daughter or myself is very impressed with this toy. It does not really open wide enough for her to maneuver things in and out of it and none of the accessories are really that much fun. Overall I wish we would have just bought her a regular 'girlie' purse to play with.

5Fun And Sweet Toy by Andre T. Bradshaw "A

My daughter received the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn My Pretty Learning Purse as a gift in December 2009. She is still in love with this set! The songs that the purse plays are very catchy and light, and it is so much fun to listen to my daughter try to sing along. The purse also makes fun sounds. For example, when you slide the "zipper" it makes a cute zipping noise. That always brings a smile to my toddler's face. There is a volume control switch on the bottom of the purse that has two settings - quiet and loud. The accessories are really neat, too. The "dollar" crinkles, the "lipstick" rattles, and the keys are perfect for teething. The bracelet is also a great size for toddler arms, and we've never had any problems with it sliding off even though my daughter's arms are very thin. I plan to buy another one of these as a gift for my niece for her 1st birthday.

5Niece loves it!!! by R. Wright "Alley Vip

Bought this for my niece's 1st Birthday, and she just loves it. She finally has her own purse and can stay out of her mother's purse...lol. Great buy for the little girls.

5Cute but not all that interesting by R. A. Bailey

My daughter received this for her first birthday & played with it all of once. It's a cute design & has lots of accessories but the purse barely opens & very difficult/ bulky for small children to carry around. The electronic element seemed to annoy her more then anything else & in our opinion didn't add anything to the play experience. I also dislike that the inside isn't finished, the seams are raw & jagged unusual for Fisher-Price. After being played with once it sat in the toy box for over 6mths until we sent it to a friend who seemed to enjoy it more.

5Bulky and Dirty by Mommy

Looks cute at first, and the songs are honestly adorable, but it got dirty very easily just from being in the house. It is also heavy and bulky for a baby, even for a toddler. It's hard to open and close or put anything inside. Accessories are very cute, the money is made from that paper babies love so that was always in her mouth!

5Learning Purse by Pam Nichelson

My 11 month old granddaughter does not spend a lot of time playing with this toy. She does like the lipstick. Maybe, she is a little young for this purse.

5Could be better by M. Bojczuk "happymom

I am not impressed with this toy. The purse doesnt open very far and then there is a big plastic block for the batteries to go it taking up most of the room in the bottom of the bag. My kids like to put stuff in bags, but this bag barly holds the junk it comes with let alone any extras. Magnetis closure is hard for my 1 year old to undo. She is happier with one of my old small tote bags and misc stuff she finds around the house.

5Fun & Playful by Merry G "Merry25"

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. She turned two just days after the holiday. She loves girly things and especially dress-up and pretend! This appealed to those characteristics as well as the musical aspect of this purse. I noticed that when she began playing with it she put all the items that came with it into the purse (and also items on the coffee table that didn't!!) Anyway, a fun time was had with this toy!

5Great Gift For 1 Year Old by Jessica L. Wilke "Tw

Bought for my 1 year old twins. Girls loves the song it sings & playing with the contents of the purse. The only thing I don't like is they can't put the purse on their shoulder. They love carrying a purse around.

5Kids first pocketbook by D. Crist

My daughter loves this thing. She carries it everywhere. We bought this for her when she was 9 months old and she still plays with it at 16 months.

5Half-heartedly laugh and learn very little! by KG

This is the most disappointing item in the Laugh & Learn line so far. Outside of the faux lipstick, my daughter played with everything else all of once. The purse itself is NOT user friendly at all. It barely opens, wont stay open & is bogged down by the mechanical closet they have hidden inside of it lol. What a shame because it had great potential! The other purse items are not very entertaining & the purse design deters my kids from feigning the slightest interest in it. You can't even really put anything in it at all. I think they thought it looked so cute they forgot to test it with real live children :(

5Great Nighttime Bag for Clubbing by Kitty Wright

I received this purse for my 23rd birthday, and I couldn't be happier. It has a fairly spacious interior, just enough room for my iPhone and wallet and even a pack of smokes (menthol, of course). I don't need to worry about finding space for my keys because they attach to the handy loop on the outside. The handbag stays closed with a magnetic clasp, which is trendy AND convenient. When I open up my purse to pay the check at fancy restaurants, it makes sparkle sounds--I feel pretty and special, even at the Outback Steakhouse. The reason I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars is because it comes with a fuchsia lipstick, which honestly looks garish with my complexion. I would have loved a classic red instead, or maybe even a coral.

5Laugh and Learn Purse by M. Lodato

I purchased this purse with high hopes that my daughter would play with it a lot, but she does not seem to like it much. I am not sure if its because mom's purse does not talk or laugh. :)

its built very well, toys are ok that are in the purse.

5Not impressed, returned it for a better purse by sunflowersNC

Originally we bought this for our 7 mo old daughter, but ultimately we returned it for various reasons. 1. It's not really a "learning purse", it just has various songs and sounds, FP tends to think if they slap some numbers and letters on a toy, they can call it a "learning" toy. 2. It's not easy to manipulate for little hands - this goes from opening the top to sliding the switch. I will commend the accessories as being appropriate and entertaining, but since that was the best aspect of toy, we opted to get a less expensive, non-battery activated first purse for our daughter and have been much happier with our choice, less expensive too when bought in store. FOr those looking for an alternative, we purchased the Playskool busy lil purse Playskool Busy Lil' Purse

5Ditzy Purse by E. Leanhardt "Erin"

Does anyone else have a problem with their daughter playing with such a ditzy toy? It's cute, but as a mom who wants to teach her children the value of inner beauty, I don't want my daughter learning that we put on lipstick before we go out (as one of the little songs says).

The purse is awkward to open and carry and does not hold much. We received this as a gift from a precious well-meaning friend, but I would not not have purchased it myself. My 1 year old is only mildly interested in this toy.

5boring by Kimberly Ripley "sto

My daughter is totally not interested in this toy. The purse is hard to keep open and it's very ugly inside. There isn't a whole lot of room inside either. The toys that it comes with are not very entertaining. It comes with a lipstick, keys, bracelet, and ONE $1.00 bill. I'm not sure what my baby is supposed to actually learn from this. It would have been nice if there had been more dollar bills so she could at least learn how to count with them.
