Editorial Reviews

This pink pig is an infant toy that exposes babies to counting, colors, animals and sizes through the friendly role play of a piggy bank theme. In the Learning Mode, baby can drop one of the 10 colorful coins into the generous slot on the top to hear musical rewards as the Piggy Bank counts for each coin dropped. Press the "nose" for friendly sounds and a song about counting, colors, and big and small. In the Music Mode, each coin drop will play one of five short ditties. Press the "nose" for fun sounds and an additional song. In either mode, baby can open the clear door for music as the coins tumble out and the tail spins for additional play. Requires 3 "AAA" batteries (included).

5Great toy! by hollybloom24 "hollyb

This toy entertains our girls for hours! I bought it for them when they were 13 months old, and they have been consistantly playing with it for five months! The price is very reasonable for the amount of entertainment received. And our door falls off too (when pulled off) and it is easy to put back on - no big deal.

5Cute but a little flimsy by E. Hall

I bought this toy for my daughter last week when she turned one. It's really cute, and even my 2 and 4 year old boys like it. One thing I do love is that the volume is LOW! It's so refreshing to have a toy that doesn't annoy the &^%* out of us!

However, my two year old pulled the door off with no effort at all. He just reached over and popped it off. Now every time I snap it back on (it does snap in easily), it doesn't stay. It falls off constantly and drives me crazy.

But other than that, it's a cute toy.

5Kids love it! by Darlene Fisher "Busy

I run an indoor playground for small children and this is one of the favorite toys, regardless of the child's age. It is cute and is great for building hand-eye coordination.

5Great piggy bank by Michele Doyle

My 1 year old saw this toy at a friend's house and everytime we went there she played with it. I got it for her and I ask her to go get her pig and she gets it. She LOVES the pig! She plays with it at least once a day. The plastic door does fall off a lot, but it's easy to put back on. The volume is very low so you won't get a headache. The songs are cute and catchy. If your child loves putting things into other things, this is the toy to get. If you have the Fisher Price Oreo Matching Middles toy, the halves of the oreos fit in the pig too and make it that much more fun!

5Love the Piggy Bank by Helena74

I had seen this on the toy store shelves and thought it looked boring but my mother in law bought this for our 2 1/2 year daughter and she loves it.Yes we have also had the problem with the door but it does go back on.It is better that it does give rather than gets broken altogther. My daughter loves too sort the coins into colours or the next time she might sort into the sizes.Like most toddlers she loves to open and close the door, take the coins in and out.At other times she will just dance to the music.I was totally surprised how many games could be made out of this toy and how many different things it would teach.Like the colours, manners(excuse me),size, numbers, songs.Overall we are very happy with this toy.

5Oh I'm a Piggy Bank.....Fan by N. Winton "Blessed M

Ok, I have to admit that one of the first things that drew me to this toy was the cute little songs it sings. We don't purchase many talking toys for our house, but I made an exception for this one. It is not annoying at all, and it has a volume switch.
You can press the piggy's nose to hear several little dittys, or put coins in the slot and it will sing or count, depending on if it is switched to the "music" mode or "counting" mode.
At the time we got it, my baby was really into "putting and taking", and now that he is a little older we use it to teach colors.
I considered giving only 4 stars because the door seems just a little on the flimsy side and ours doesn't close exactly evenly like it should, but I am picky and overall this is a 5 star toy. I liked it so much I got one for my friend's baby for his 1st birthday.

5One of the Top Ten Most-Played-With-Toys in Our House by goonius

We've had this piggy bank for about 3 years now. Early on his door broke, and it only takes a coin or two in the slot before it pops open and the counting starts over at one, but I never relied on this toy for teaching numbers, so it's really just a minor annoyance. The kids don't care. They LOVE this toy. The youngest (1.5 years) loves sorting the coins, and carting them around the house in shopping carts and wagons. The eldest (3.5 years) will occasionally sort them, but these days she prefers to play pretend that the coins are cookies and other creative things. They both love to dance around to the music, and will play the songs until I have them stuck in my head for the rest of the evening. Usually I hate these electronic songs that accompany the new wave of "learning" toys, but these are actually catchy and kind of cute.

I'd never imagined when buying this toy that it would have such open-ended functions, but it has truly had enduring entertainment value.

Lately we've been weeding out a lot of our plastic China-manufactured toys, but I think the pig will have to stay. The kids love him, and they've had such fun with him, that he seems to be a permanent member of the family.

5Cute Piggy Bank by JT "JenT"

My son is 18 months old and he loves to play with this. He figured out where the button is for the door and he will push it to hear the pig say open/close. He laughs at that. It took him about a day to figure out how to put the coins in, now we work on colors. He plays with this everyday and we have had it for about a month. He loves to hear her sing as well by pushing her nose. When we tell him "go get your piggy bank.." he grabs it by the ears and brings it to us. He has also learned how to say the word money from playing with this toy !

5Needs improvement by KD

I bought this for my 9 month old son. I think the concept is neat; however this toy needs improvement. The toy is faulty because the door does not want to stay closed and after you put in a few coins it pops open on its own. After you add a coin, then the toy exclaims "one", then you add another coin and the toy counts "two". We have had problems where if you add a coin, then push the nose, then go to add another coin, then the toy looses track and does not count consecutively, which is confusing for a child learning to count. I was really disappointed that it only plays 3 songs or so and they are not very fun. I do like the volume feature and the coins are cool colors!

5Neat Toy! by wife and mother

This is a great toy. The coins are very easy for a baby to hold and manipulate. My six month old loves for me to place a coin on the slot, and then he pushes it into the bank. I love that the coins are different colors and two different sizes. Older kids can learn more than just counting, they can learn "big and little" and sorting skills.
The only thing I don't love about it is that the door comes off quite easily. But we just snap it back on.

5Great Gift Idea by MommaB3

Great toy. We've had ours for almost 2 yrs. It is durable, entertaining, and educational. My 3 yr old still plays with it regularly, and my 1 yr old loves it too. Would purchase again. Nice, uncomplicated toy at a decent price.

5My daughter's favorite for years! by Supermotherof10

I bought this toy for my daughter when she was about a year old. She is now almost 5 years old and still loves her piggie. He is so cute and sings cute little songs. He has been very durable and has needed only one or two battery changes in all these years. The coins are another story, though. They get lost and I have had to go on ebay to buy replacements. The door to the piggie doesn't open and close as well as it did years ago.I took one star off of durability for the coins and the door hinges. I think that overall the fun my daughter has had with this piggie far outweighs the price I originally paid. I think the piggie will be around for my 8 month old daughter to play with. It's just that great of a toy! I would definately recommend it to my friends and family with small kids.

5Favorite toy by Cuca

I bought this toy almost 4 years ago for my first kid. He used it and used it all over again (he still does). Now I have an other boy (16 months) and is also his favorite toy by far! I have a 5 month old baby girl that I AM SURE is going to love it too. I would highly recommend this toy as the best gift for a toddler.

5Difficult to Open door by Sara M

This toy has some really great qualities...It plays some cute tumes that the kids like to dance to and the brightly colored money is fun to play with even on its own. However, the slot for the money is too narrow for my daughter 13 month old to get the coins into. Perhaps this will change as she gets older. But my main gripe is that the door that is suppose to open so to get the money out is VERY difficult to open. My daughter can't do it. neither can her 2.5 yr old cousin or the 3.5 yr old I babysit. The coins go in but don't come out which leads to tears of frustration from both my daughter and myself. the kids have to bring me the pig to get out the coins which defeats the purpose of toy.
****UPDATE****
After much use, the diffucult-to-open door has been broken in and is not such a hassel to get open. My daughter is now two and still loves to play with this pig. She has learned about real money and has a piggy bank for loose change. After putting real money into her piggy bank she always runs to get this piggy toy to keep the money-collecting fun going. My daughter likes the counting along with pig and she has also taken to teaching her baby brother how to use it. He's only six months old but he still loves to eat the coins and laughs at the songs. I would now reccomend this product and wish I had given it more stars because rarely do baby toys get used for so long!

5Be careful with younger baby by Lauren V. "Lauren V.

My son received this piggy bank as a 2nd birthday gift. He loves it. He had only had the bank for a couple of weeks and I noticed the door kept popping off. I took a look where the door connects to the rest of the pig, and apparently one of the pink nubs on the pig that hold the door in place broke off. I'm not too concerned that he could have put that nub in his mouth at this age, but it would be an issue if he were younger. And the door popping off is a source of frustration for him at times. I reported the issue to Fisher Price.

5great toy, must have by A. Potter "Jonny's a

Well, this toy is one of the most fun toys I ever saw.
My son just loves it, even now, when he is 23 m/old. The only thing, that I am not so happy about is a door. It's very tight and no way to open it even for 2 y/old. So I have to open it for my son every time, that sure keeps me busy too.:((

5My kids liked it, but problems with the door by K.C.

My twins really liked this toy at first, but it was a bit frustrating for them because they found the door hard to open to get the coins back out. After a couple of weeks, it seemed to loosen up and was easier to open, but then a couple of months later, the door wouldn't stay closed, so if you picked it up with coins in it, the door would come open and they would go all over the place. It was very annoying, so we eventually got rid of it. I'm really disappointed it didn't hold up better.

5Going strong for well over a month. by S. Sanders

Had this toy about 1.5 months, still entertains my 15 month old. We bring it out every few days, she always gets excited about it. No problems getting the coins through the slot. Wonderful.

5Great gift item! by j2shack

I have purchased this item 6 times as a gift. Usually for a 1st Birthday. The parents always rave and say how it is a favorite toy. I can no longer find it in stores and have recently had to purchase online. I will continue to buy this item as long as it is available.

5Cute toy, and useful for developmentally delayed children by Brittany

My mother used a similar product with developmentally delayed children who find the motions required in using a typical piggy bank too difficult (and coins a little too tempting to eat.) She loved it... Until some jerk stole the toy from her school. The new one came very quickly, and looks great. I also like that you can buy extra coins separately - in a school setting those coins have a tendency to disappear.

5Her favorite toy by Robert B. Felts "Rob

This is the toy my 18 month old daughter goes to time and time again. She counts along with the pig up to 3 and I'm sure she'll be counting up to 10 with it before long. It is very sturdy and has survived being thrown more than once. I highly recommend.

5Fun Piggy by TwinmomMC

My 2 year old twins got this for Christmas. They love rounding up the coins from around the room and putting them in the slot, then taking them out and starting over again. Lots of fun!

5Wonderful Learning Toy by Zuzu "LadyDragon22"

My son absolutely adores his piggy bank, and I don't mind it either! The sound on it isn't loud and annoying like some childrens' toys, which makes it great when he wants to play while we're watching movies, reading, doing homework, or doing other activities. It is also amazingly durable. My son got ahold of someone's drink and spilled it all over this toy. I thought it was done for, but after I cleaned it up it still worked! This is a wonderful first time piggy bank.

5The Best Toy! by P. Unger

I first saw this toy at my son's physical therapist. My son learned to squat and put the coins in. The physical therapist also used it to get my son on all fours (she'd lift his legs so he'd use his arms more and then put the coins in the piggy). It was a great toy to motivate him to do to stuff. I love the sounds and the way you can learn so much from it. Colors, counting, big & small shapes, matching, open & close, in & out. My son loved this toy. When he no longer needed physical therapy I couldn't find the toy in the local toy store any more. I was so disappointed. But thankfully, a friend told me Amazon had it! I quickly ordered it and now my 2nd son (1 years old) plays with it with his big brother. I highly recommend it. Oh, and thankfully, I don't have the door falling off problem like others describe but if I did, I'm sure we could simply put it back on. Buy this toy before you can't find it anymore! The Fisher-Price website no longer carries it either.

5Awesome toy! by ADAM M. GRIM

My little guy just loves to put the coins in this bank. He's not even 1 year yet, but he's a big fan. He'll become much better at it in a couple of months I'm sure. It definitely keeps his attention for a little while. The songs it sings are very cute and it seems pretty durable too.

5She loves it! by GrammyTams

My 7 month old Granddaughter is loving this toy! She loves chewing on the coins, throwing them around, and she is delighted with the cute sounds and songs. This is simply adorable and I'm sure she's get a couple of years of play time with it. Soon she'll figure out how to put the coins in the slot by herself and realize the counting that takes place as she does. The sound is great. This is a fun, cute, educational toy. So glad I found it!

5Durable toy -learn to count, practice fine motor skills, ect by Julie McCausland

I bought this used at a second hand store when my son was 6 months old. Back then he needed help playing with it sometimes. We would practice his hand eye/fine motor skills, counting, and I would point out the color of the coins to my son as well. He enjoyed the challenge of getting the coins in the slot and was amused by the music and the door that opens and closes. My son is now 19 months old and it is a toy he still finds challenging at times and that he can sit and play with all by himself. I like this toy a lot and I would purchase it again and I would purchase it as a gift for others. It would be a nice first birthday gift.

5wonder toy by C. Fultz "Dadu"

5lots of fun !!!!!!!! by courtneyjaune

5Wonderful toy found on Amazon by Iris L. Casiglia

I am the mother of two and the grandmother of 4 and I have to say this is the best toy for babies I have seen in a very long time. I bought it for my grand daughter's first birthday and it is her favorite gift. The big coins are easy for a one year old to handle. There are 12 of them and she started by just playing with the coins by themselves. It did not take long for her to master putting the coins into the large slot on top of the pig. If you switch it on music plays whenever you put a coin in. If you push on the nose or the tail you hear a song. Her big brother has the songs memorized and sings them to her as the music plays which causes even more fun. Since it comes with so many coins I don't really see the need to order the additonal pack of just coins. I imagine they would come in handy if the originals were lost but the 12 that come with the Piggy Bank fill it completely.
