Fun and Durable by Heather "Trippinoutm
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 2 year old daughter, and she loves it. The songs are cute, the plastic is tough, and the 2 year old thinks the "real" strumm-able "strings" are the best thing since sliced bread. My 4 year old likes it too, and both my girls are picking up bits of spanish just from singing along with the guitar. I definitely recommend it, especially to the pint sized Dora enthusiasts.
Great Musical Toy by J. Ekstein "selling
We bought this for my 4 year old stepdaughter, and when it arrived in the mail, the package from UPS began singing, "WE DID IT! WE DID IT!" The dora guitar had arrived, batteries included.
When she opened this gift on her birthday, her eyes lit up and she gasped. She was so excited. She plays with this thing non-stop, strumming and singing. The buttons are nice too since they play "real" songs.
My daughter loves it! by L. Quarshie "esmer30
This toy became an instant hit for my 3yr old who is so into Dora. She still plays with it and has so much fun. I love the tune and she can strum along like a real guitar. I am glad i purchased this.
My 2 year old daughter wanted this more than anything for xmas. She loves it, and plays with it daily, which is great...I find it annoying after a while though, and have to find ways to direct her to a different toy. That's true for a lot of the toys that have programmed sounds and music though. It would be really nice if you could actually make this play the programmed chords in a way that created a song...that would be a big improvement.
Daughter Loves this! by cnagoyer
As much as this toy annoys me, my daughter loves it. She plays with it a lot and has even thrown it around and dropped it and it never breaks. This is an all around good toy. The only downside is there is no volume level, its either on or off.
They weren't joking when they named it "MEGA Tunes". by Dan Nolan "Dan, Lyns
I am not particularly sensitive to electronic toys that are very much the 'norm' nowadays. I usually block out the noises and never really have any negative reactions to listening to the chirps, squeaks and songs that come out of them for hours on end. I can't say this is the case for my daughter's Fisher Price Dora Mega Tunes Guitar. Immediatly after my daughter starts jamming on it, my ears start ringing and my head starts pulsating. It really is THAT LOUD! There is no volume control on this baby and the only sound that is available is literally SCREAMING LOUD! My daughter is actually playing with the toy in question as I am writing this review and I am actively tempted to take the little guitar outside and smash it like they did the printer in the movie "Office Space."
I will admit, my daughter loves playing with this thing...and that's why I put up with it. However, the only way I would ever buy this toy again is if I was gifting it to a child whose parent I did not exceptionally like.
Fun toy...but watch out! by nclspldng
Daughter loves it. Only problem is that Dora says "Hit it" before playing a song. My 2 year old is taking that literally and walking around the house hitting things with the guitar....

Great fun for Dora and music lovers! by L. Casale
My 5 and 3 year old granddaughters love this. They swing their hips and really really think they are playing. It is all they can do to wait their turn. So far so good. It is smaller than I expected but the girls don't mind. I would buy it again.
Annoying, but my daughter loves it! by Christy
If it's even possible that a toy can be more annyoing than the show it came from - this is it! However, that being said, my daughter absolutely loves this thing, so I have to give it 4 stars on her behalf.
Love at first strum... by C. J. Little
If you have a child that has the least bit of interest in a guitar, he/she will LOVE this one! My grandchild opened it at Christmas and promptly forgot about all her other presents - she has "played" it constantly since she opened. Fortunately, it has an off button that a child will have a hard time finding!
Cute Toy for Dora Lovers! by C. James "Cris-Style
I bought this for my 2 year old daughter, she is a Dora LOVER! This is really cute and she plays with it almost everyday. Great music to dance and have fun with your child. More musical and fun then educational. Good Buy!
Stopped working after 3 days... by BPH
My 3-yr old was THRILLED when she received this. Sadly, it didn't last more than 3 days. We assumed it was because it needed new batteries (she played with it constantly), but after replacing the batteries it still didn't work. We are very disappointed, as is she...
Nice toy for toddlers by Kim M. Clark "Maria"
My daughter got this from Santa (I had to buy the gift) last Christmas in school and it still works perfectly. She is now three years old and still plays with it along with her other toys. There is no volume button but it really isn't overly loud, but it is a bit annoying. However, children seems to enjoy it which is important. I must mention that the pick for the guitar is in a good location for safe keeping, even thought my daughter lost hers many months ago.
I will recommend this toy for it's durability, especially if you have a child who loves music, loves to sing is rough. It is a tough toy.
Fun but LOUD!!! by Eddysdoll2007
My neighbor gave my daughter this toy as a gift. My daughter loves it! However i on the other hand do not love it. It is so loud there is no volume control on it! There is one song that Dora sings about dancing with ants in your pants which is very odd, and during that song when you strum the guitar it is extra loud for some reason. I find it to be very annoying. Fun for kids, annoying for us parents. *lol* I would like it much better if it had a volume control on it.
REALLY needs a volume control by Amy Mcfarland "Mom o
My 3-year old daughter received this for her birthday. She's a huge Dora fan, and the look on her face when she opened this guitar was priceless. She uses it every day. The first ten minutes I thought it was very cute. Then I started looking for a way to tone down the sound. Apparently it has an off and on function, and that's about it. 30 minutes into use, I had to get some clear tape to put over the speaker to muffle it a bit.
It's a super cute guitar, and I love that she can strum the strings to produce different sounds. There are several songs programmed into the guitar from the Dora show - she especially loves the Ants in Your Pants song. I also like that she can create her own songs as she experiments with the guitar. Overall it's a really fun toy, and seems quite durable. My only complaint is the lack of volume control as mentioned above. My daughter even covered her ears the first time she played it. If your child loves Dora, I do recommend this toy, but with the addition of a little clear plastic packing tape over the speaker so your little rocker doesn't deafen themselves and your household prematurely!
A fun Dora guitar but way too loud by L. Cabrera
My daughter saw this in the store and begged to get it. She loves the guitar and sings and dances along with it.
My only problem with this toy is the volume - it is excessively loud. It's so loud that I am concerned about my daughter getting hearing damage because of it. There's no volume control switch.
To remedy this, we've stuffed tissue paper and put a small piece of cardboard over the speaker. However, the speaker is directly beneath the "strings" so strummming on them will dislodge it. Even with all of this over the speaker, it still borders on loud.
Sadly, it's going back to the store. It's just too darn loud. I don't know how they could make a toy with such a problem.
Plastic strings move and comes with a pick. by Brianna Standish-sal
My daughter got this from her grandma for her 1st birthday she is two now and it still works as good as it did the first day. It has been a year and we have not had to replace the battery, which means she is not using it all the time. I do believe that she likes the toy but it is not her favorite and it does not keep her attention for more than 15 mins. I was upset that the toy does not play more of the songs featured on the show, other than that it is a great first toy guitar compared to the other ones out there and the plastic strings move when you push against them.
The title sums it up, LOUD
and no volume switch!!!
Honestly if I had known how horribly loud it was going to be I would not have put it on a birthday registry for my 3 yr old.
It's a very cute toy, but within minutes of her playing with it I feel a headache pounding away and I fear hearing loss is she plays with it longer than 5 minutes.
Maybe an outdoor toy? but I wouldn't recommend this toy.
I purchased this Dora Mega Tunes Guitar for my niece as a Christmas present. She immediatedly fell in love with it and would not look at any of her other toys. However, within the first 5 minutes the lights and sound stopped working. We tried replacing the batteries but it never worked again. My niece still loved the guitar, but we were all disappointed and since I was visiting from out of town,I really could not take it away from her and attempt to get it replaced. Very unhappy with the quaility.
It's cute for those toddlers who would like to pretend that they are playing a guitar. It's not a real guitar but it's durable and toddlers especially will enjoy pushing the buttons and strumming the strings.
keep looking by Jennifer L. Conrad
My daughter loves Dora but this toy really bores her. She wants to play guitar like her dad, but the songs produced by this toy seem to irritate her. She prefers her Disney princess piano many times over.
We bought the kids a real guitar and a Dora guitar. Hopefully they will get the hang of the real one by hearing Dora songs.
