5Love this toy! by R. Howard "Beck 2688

My daughter received this for her first birthday and just loves it. She is not one to just sit in a lap but when my husband gets home from work, she goes and picks it up and brings it to him so they can sit in the chair and play farmer says. She loves to point at the animals and thinks the music is great. No problems pulling the lever (also great fun). The toy has been dropped many a time and my daughter also thinks it is great fun to stand on it, No problems to speak of.

5The bunny goes 'boing boing' by F. Hinds "opinions g

I bought this because my mom was desperate for the classic version that I played with as a kid. This isn't it. The toy is smaller and the handle is so stiff my 15 month old gets pissed trying to make it talk. Also, in the interest of cramming more animals in there are 'sounds' that are non-sense like the bunny who goes 'boing' are you kidding me? Use your cash to buy something GOOD for the baby in your life.

5Just a little too much by minismee

I have to agree with the other review - what's with the bunny going "boing boing"? That's ridiculous. And my son also had trouble pulling the handle for a while.

I admit though, my son likes this toy and it is kinda nice to have two different sides so there are more animals. However, I really wish there was a way to turn off the quiz function. Or if the quiz section was only on one side. This toy appeals to a lot of children who are too young to get the quiz thing, and it's a little disruptive when they get into the groove of learning about animal sounds (even the made-up ones) and all of a sudden the thing is asking them questions. And you either have to fix it by pointing the arrow to the correct animal yourself, or wait until it turns itself off. I mean, I'm sure it's a nice feature for kids who are big enough to understand how to do it, but I just really would rather not deal with it sometimes.

5Pleased Mimi by Tammy S. Martin "Mim

Great product ... grandkids love it! This is a step-up model from the one that we had with the older grands. This is a two-page one with more animals and more songs! Well worth the money!!!

5Review of THE FARMER SAYS by wtd's mom

This is a fun toy; however it is VERY VERY loud. We put scotch tape over the speaker and that worked well.

5Not like the old ones by Darrell Taylor

I thought this would be like the old See & Says from the '80's. My main complaint is the sound goes so fast, you can barely make out what they are saying.

5Great, realistic animal sounds; lever loud when pulled by bdbear

This is a nice toy, and I like the fact that the animal sounds are all realistic. The couple of drawbacks there are include 1) when the lever is pulled down, the sound of it and the arrow turning are a bit loud and you almost can't hear anything until the animal sound and 2) the lever is a bit difficult for my son to figure out (he's used to pressing buttons on most of his other toys) and he's a pretty bright 18 month-old. Hopefully he'll figure it out soon. Seems sturdy and definitely worth the cost.

5Just not the same... by D. Beaman "aficionad

This is not the same old "The Farmer Says" from my youth. This machine is much smaller than the one I had as a child. I call it a "machine" because it's battery run now. My daughter prefers to stand on it more then anything, but she does enjoy the sounds.
I give credit where credit is due though; there are twice as many animal sounds as before, a couple of songs (Old MacDonald Had A Farm and the Farmer in the Dell), and even a quiz function.
All in all, not a bad toy, but not what it used to be. You can't even spin it like back in the old days and make it speak slow or fast! That was half the fun!

5Is to difficult to work for younger children! by Ben Larkins "larkins

I was excited about this toy since I had one when I was little. However the pull on the toy is very hard, even for an 18 month old to pull down. You must pull the leaver all the way down to get it to work. Even if you pull it 90% down it will turn but will not make any noise. A 3 year old can easily pull it down but did not seem to interested in playing with it. So overall I don't know if I would buy this toy again because at the age our kids were interested in it, it was too hard to work and by the time they can work it they aren't really interested in it.

5It's not like it use to be! by first time mom

I bought this modern version of the Farmer says and it wasn't as easy to play with for my 8 month old daughter. There is no pull cord like the ones when i was little. It is hard for her to pull down the plastic lever and hold it at the same time. It is still cute with lots of different animal sounds and would probably get more use when she is older.
I would recommend this learning toy for 1yr. up. And no my daughter is not slow, just too small yet. I have to hold it for her and then she loses interest. The Farmer Says

5great toy by Rolt

Great toy. My son loves it. But it does seem laud and annoying when he plays with it in the mornning.

5Grandson loves it! by Susie

I gave this to my grandson at Christmas. He loves it!! It is easy
to operate. He can do it all himself. The animal sounds are
very correct. He just turned 2 years old. Great toy for a small
child.

5Timeless Educational Toy... by T.W. Lee "T. W. Lee"

I am very old fashioned when it comes to what I want the children in my life to play with. It not only has to be educational but also fun. The newer toys being made today have nothing on the classics of yester year. Yes this is a more updated version but the basic concept is still the same. A must for all developing young minds.

5Farmer Says is a fun way to learn about animals by Jo-

I bought this for my 2 yr. old neice. She likes all the sounds and I really like the "quiz mode" for a more interactive experience as she gets older.

5Learn about animal sounds by F. L. Towsley

This type of toy was a favorite of my children many years ago. I had to buy one for my grandsons birthday. What a hit, everyone took a turn with it ---ADULTS INCLUDED

5Confusing by Jenny Lynne "Jenny L

My problem with this toy is that it makes the noise for the animal the arrow started at, not ended at. For example, if the arrow is on the pig, then spins and lands on a rooster, it oinks. It seems to me children are learning that the rooster oinks.

The recommended age for this toy is 18 months and up. It irks me that parents of younger children have given this toy low reviews because their child couldn't pull the lever. Giver you child an age-appropriate toy and review that!

5Not what I remembered but still fun by Sandra D. Wells "San

I miss the string. It has a lever now which is safer, sure. It has more than the original one which I'm not sure is necessary. Still a fun toy, educational, and will last a long time.

5Both little girls love this. by April D. White

My 3 year old recieved this for her 1 year birthday and of course her 9 month old sister has it handed down to her. They love it. The 9 month old doesn't quite know how to pull the handle down yet, but try's, so her big sister always play's the old Mcdonald song and they both sing. My 9 month old has learned to sing, E I, E I, Oh!! It is precious! Love it~

5A toy to learn by Juan

This a toy to learn not oly through pictures but also with sounds. My litle child lovs this toy and enjoy it every day.

5GREAT! by iluvmyMP13

My one year old loves this toy! He is a very active one year old and this toy holds his attention! He loves to sit on someones lap and play his little heart out!

5Great toy!! by Ruby J. Tullis

I remember the Farmer says, when I was small and remember how much I loved playing with it. So I decided to buy this one for my nephew. And now it is improved with so many new animals, music, and quizes you can take. He is one years old, and dearly loves it. He also likes to push it on the ground. I guess that works too. It is also a lot smaller than the ones I remember. I love the toy for my nephew.

5great classic by Maria Long

This is a classic and my son like it. He is 19months old so he can pull the lever but for $12 he plays w/ it and when we play w/ it together he likes the sounds

5Great toy - a lot like the classic only better! by Shelly

This is like the old model but has more animals and is smaller - easier to handle and store. Instead of the ring and string to pull, it has a handle - another improvement.

5Daughter loves this thing by 504 Westbank Boy

This toy is great for daddy daughter time she talks and tries to make the sounds of the animals and she pays attention to the songs that are played. and it also get the kid calm and keeps them in one spot.

5Perenial Favorite by Traci Preston "Saucy

I had several of these toys aa a child and remember them fondly. I purchased this for my 18 month old nephew, who is now in love with animals, so that he can learn all the names and sounds. It is very durable and colorful.

5What child wouldn't love this? by M. S. Jones

Purchased this for our 14-month old grandson. He absolutely loved it from the minute the wrapping paper came off, and I am sure he will enjoy it for several years. It is a fun way to teach a child the sounds that animals make, and he loves to hear the "Old MacDonald" song. Actually plan to purchase a second one to have at our home when he visits here.

5A classic! by G. Everts

I purchased this for my children thirty-some years ago, and now have purchased for my granddaughter. My kids remember this as being one of their favorite toys. It still sounds the same, the only difference being: there is an extra page of sounds now. Great toy, would recommend!

5A classic! by R. joel

I remembered this toy from when my children were young and just had to find it for my grandson. I love it just as much today as I did years ago. Truly a classic and wonderful toy!

5An Old Favorite Duded Up by Wanda J. Heflin "dot

My own children had this toy. I have pulled that handle many times. Now great nephews got them for Christmas. The extra page makes for more variation. This toy always got giggles at my house.

5Things Change too much by man-man

I see that this toy is smaller in size and not enough animals on it.
The children doesn't like the sounds that are being made, such as the bunny goes;boink, boink.
This toy don't interest a child!

I hope the original see n say comes back.
M.
