Editorial Reviews
Be quick as you flick, slide or shoot the different-colored hyper discs under the arch. As the game unit calls out the sequence of colors for you to pass, the game "knows" if you've passed the right disc or not. Pass 'em fast before the buzzer blasts! Obey the voice commands, get your brain in the game and break the code, or guess which color will be called next. Play with a friend or practice solo.
Tabletop slide-and-pass excitement features electronic lights and sounds, plus an announcer's voice that talks you through three fast-sliding game modes. Electronic game unit comes with four Hyper Discs, each a different color; plus Hyper Band and instructions. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (not included). For 1 or 2 players.

Snowed in, heater out, the kids still loved this, didn't notice the cold by K. Corn "reviewer"
Although the age range for this one is noted as being for ages eight and up, I can personally testify to the fact that teens also find the Hyper Slide to be fun and challenging.
It comes equipped with five games and my son and a group of his friends spent hours in our living room, the only room with a roaring fire and some warmth, playing this game. They were laughing and cheering each other on in their attempt to slide the various colors of "pucks" or little chips under the arch of hyper slide - as soon as the recorded voice of the "game leader" told them which colored chip to select.
What is particularly clever about the Hyper Slide is its single player option. To use it for solo players, you simply take a rubber strip and insert it into the appropriate parts of the arch, converting it instantly from a 2 person game to one for an individual player. Very smart!
THere are five games of varying difficulty. The most challenging for our family was the one where a pattern of colors would be noted (red, yellow, yellow would be one example) and then an ADDITIONAL color would be added to that pattern so that the player would have to remember an increasing number of chips to slide through the arch, all in a given time limit. Try it and see how hard it can be.
Because of the different levels of difficulty, I have to rate this one high. It held our teen's attention - and those of his friends - for most of a day and has continued to be popular.
Great gift! by K. Kelley "Fearless
The Hyper Slide turned out to be so much fun! It is fast paced and challenging. I love it because even though there is a two year age difference, my boys play together all the time. Even their little sister has gotten into playing and loves the one player option. She is only four and is improving daily at the add one game. It helps her with her memorization which is cool. It doesn't require much room, just a smooth table. Also, easy to put away with a compartment for all of the peices. Definately a perfect toy for the whole family.
Simple but incredibly addicting! by groff5 "groff5"
We have now purchased 4 of these games as gifts, after seeing one at a demo last summer and buying it for ourselves. It is great fun for the whole family, and you can play 1 on 1 or by yourself. I'm not much of a "gamer" but this one is great!
THEY CAN'T STOP PLAYING !!! by Karen R. "socker mom
I bought this almost two weeks ago and we haven't stopped playing it! My husband is even playing it with the kids, he hasn't done this in years. Fantastic!
This little toy is great, the kids (8 and up) love playing with it. Within 5 minutes of opening the toy they were able to play with it. Very simple rules allows them to jump right in. The toy looks well made and has a convenient space to store the discs when not in use. Its also a fun game for an adult to play with their kids. You can make the game as challenging or as easy as you want by varying the distance from which the discs are thrown.
Great toy!!
Way overpriced on amazon by A. Covington "mom of
This is a great product and very entertaining, but the price on amazon is ridiculous. This product is about 20.00 at Walmart.
Buy it elsewhere by B. Junkin-Mills "bro
Wow am I ever disappointed in amazon. They were selling this for under $20 ten days ago. Now it's $58? I just went and picked it up at Target for $18... and they had plenty of 'em.
I will never again buy from amazon without shopping around. This degree of markup is disgusting.
great action toy and well made by J. Tellier "Tellier
I got this for my 9 year old son, and he loves it. The whole family enjoys playing it. I like getting toys for my son that he actually has to do something with it, not just look at or watch. This is well made, and the disks store inside the game so they don't get lost. The game reminds me of Simon, the old game where it calls out colors and you have to touch that color and it gets faster until you mess up. This one calls colors and you send that color to the opposite player then they send the next color. I played it with my son, and my only complaint is that I wish it would keep calling colors until someone messes up, but instead it goes so long and whoever has the fastest time wins. I was able to do it no problem. I am very happy I bought it, and will probably give it as a gift.
Too spazzy for my liking by William W. Davis "fa
QUICK SUMMARY: This fast-paced (I call it "spazzy") game requires razor sharp reflexes and a very focused mind. I usually play games to relax, but this game doesn't relax me -- rather, is stresses me out!
What was I thinking?
On the strength of great Amazon reviews, I bought this as a present for my 13-year-old son this past Christmas. Last year, I bought another electronic game solely on the strength of Amazon reviews, Bulls Eye Baseball, which we all enjoyed (me especially, as I got pretty good at the game).
This Christmas, I'm not much of a contender for the faster reflexes of my 13yo. Okay, so maybe my 2-star review is just because I'm a grumbling loser. I'd like to think not, of course, so here's why I don't care for this game:
One, there is no volume control. In loud settings, it can be hard to hear the announcer call out the color puck, and it's frustrating to lose a game because you couldn't hear the announcer's voice. In quiet settings, the voice is too loud.
Two, it'd have been better to include 4-color LED lights so the game could optionally be played noiselessly without any need for any announcer voice at all. And "noiselessly" means being able to turn-off that stupid background music, too.
Three, opening the cover to the pucks can lead to an explosion where the hard-to-remove lid suddenly flies off, and the pucks scatter everywhere. Why couldn't it have had a simpler, more elegant design, where it's just a slide-out drawer?
Four, there is no on/off button. When you want the game to end, there is an automatic shut-off mechanism, but who wants to listen to the music and announcer drone on and on as you wait for the stupid game to just SHUT UP already! The only easy way to get the game to shut up and turn off is to use a pointy object to depress the reset button.
Five, we thought the game was actually broken when we first tried using it -- it turned on and spoke to us, but the game wouldn't register the colored pucks passing underneath the archway. Turns out, the loose batteries we installed from the "junk drawer" were half-spent and didn't provide enough voltage to run the game properly. The game should have recognized this and said, "Low battery power - please replace all batteries before playing this game." We almost packed it up and shipped it back to Amazon before realizing it was a "user error."
Six, I just don't like games that are spazzy and require fast reflexes. I play games to relax and laugh. If you like the card game Dutch Blitz, you'll probably like this game, too, as it's just as frenetic. I hate Dutch Blitz because it's frenetic.
My kids have played the game solo and against each other, but none seem to be as fascinated with the game as much as other Amazon reviewers have been when they began playing. I'm guessing that it'll get shoved underneath the microwave oven -- where all of our games are stowed -- a few days after New Year's Day, and we'll hardly ever play it in 2010.
You can see from the many 4- and 5-star reviews that most people really like this game, however. Consider my review, then, as a counter-balance to all those positive reviews, so if you pull the trigger and buy this game, you'll really know what you're getting, and how well you're likely going to enjoy playing it.
***** December 19, 2010 UPDATE
I was right. We pulled out this game to play it maybe one or two times all year long, but it mostly just gathered dust underneath our microwave oven. This will be a game we can donate to Goodwill when we purge unused items from our home this year.
All Around Fun Family Game! by Jennifer "Mom Of One
My 7 year old son got this for Christmas this year and my husband and I love it as much as he does. Not only have we played against each other but we enjoy playing it on our own, it is rather addictive. It is small and compact enough to fit in our luggage that we plan to take it with us to Maine for our family reunion this summer. This is the perfect game to have on hand for rainy days or for when the kids complain they are bored. You honestly can't go wrong with this game, I plan to give this as birthday presents this year for all my son's friends.
I purchased these as gifts for an 11yo girl and two 12yo boys. The children really enjoyed playing with the Hyper Slide. The great thing about this toy is that it has a one player mode which is great when a child has no one with whom he/she can play. It also has built-in storage for the disks which is nice. There are several game options that can be played on this one toy. That keeps the game from becoming monotonous. The downside to this toy is that there is no "Off" switch, so there are several minutes of it verbally prompting you to "choose a game". It does turn itself off, but it takes awhile. The only alternative is to remove the batteries.
Overall my kids really liked this toy and the various games they can play on it. It is fun by yourself or with a friend, and the price is reasonable. A great gift indeed!
Super fun - if you liked Bop it... by Duane Scaggs
Got for kids (pre teens/teens) and they love it. Concepts for memorizing and increasing speed are similar to bop it! game so if you liked that, this is a neat twist. You can't turn sound down or off - a little annoying if you are in same room not playing. Rubber band good for single play. Need smooth surface to play on.
Great fun for kids and adults by P. Andrews
I bought this for my 8 yr old grandson, not knowing what to expect the adults gave it a try and didn't want to let the kids play.
Fun, easy to store or take with to someone's home. Would be great fun to have competitions at any age.
Family Loves It! by Sk8trs Mom "HAA"
I purchased this for my husband and daughter for a Christmas present this year because it never fails we are always playing some kind of sliding game on the dinner table -- quarters, pennies etc. I think they have played it every day since then! It has different games and levels to play that will keep each person entertained. We are even taking it on vacation. I only wish it had a volume control and a separate on/off switch.
Unexpectedly great game by rocdad
We love games and we picked this up on a whim not expecting much - boy were we surprised. It is a blast and the whole family can play. There are several game modes (including a solitaire mode where you play by yourself by adding a little rubber band under the sensor) and it gets pretty intense. We love it so far.
I gave this game to my 11 yr old nephew as a gift, and I had so much playing with him I got one for my husband!! He loved it and we play almost every night! This is a great toy for any age!
Play this w/my 5yo all the time by J. Evans
I bought this on a whim on black friday for my son. i saw it was for 8+ but i got such a good deal i figured if it didnt work out not too much lost but fortunately he loves it. the first one i bought however didnt work properly. the blue disc didnt register when you slid it under but after exhanging it the new one works fine. so hold onto your receipt just in case. the unit stores the 4 discs in a panel that slides off on the side(the black part)so you wont lose any pieces when you are not playing. there's even an elastic band you can place under the unit that allows you to play by yourself. the band bounces the disc back to the single player which i thought was a very nice touch. there are 5 different games you can play. the first one you try to slide as many correct discs as possible in sixty seconds. the second is the same as the first but must be played with two players. the first player to score 3 points wins and you win by correctly sliding the discs the game designates to each player. the third is called add one and with each pass the game will add another color to a growing sequence(think of simon says; red, blue, green, blue, red, red), the fourth is the same as the second but with a growing sequence. and the last one is called code buster and you have to decipher a code secretly determined by the game.
all in all i think this game is very well thought out and real fun for almost anyone.
Loved by a 9 year old! by Mommy of 3
We purchased this toy for our 9 year old nephew who loves video games. It was a huge hit and loved playing it with his Dad! Great toy!
WOW! What fun! by Glo! "Glocat"
Whether you are going solo or with 2, 3, 4 or more players, this one is totally fun and fast! I highly recommend this, it is so worth the price. The only drawback is someone getting way too intense on keeping it going - then laughing and starting over.
I appreciate the fact that all pieces are stored within the unit. The only thing I have to complain about at all is the fact that sometimes I simply can not hear what color is being called out. The game is not one of the annoying ones that are so loud you can't stand to turn it on - but you better listen good!
Totally fun and fast!
Kids loved it by Diane K. Reed
I purchased this for grandkids. It is fast paced and they really enjoyed it. Assembly is simple. Table is needed or wood floor for this game in order for the orbs to slide properly. Great game for one or two kids. Fast paced.
A lot of fun, but only for so long by Willie V. Hughes
This game/toy is a lot of fun. There are a few modes and it's sort of combination of Simon Says (by testing your memory) and air hockey (by testing your speed and reflexes). A friend of mine has two young children and they were the first to play with it. They had a blast. Then, my buddy and I played each other. We too had a great time.
The only downsides to the game/toy are: (1) kids will get a bit rowdy and riled up flicking/shuffling the pucks into the rubber net (or off the table!), (2) there is a cool funk song played while the game is running, but it gets tiring after several minutes, and (3) the fun of the game wears off after about 15-minutes and you'll want to take a break.
Don't get me wrong: The Electronic Hyperslide is a blast, but just a few things to consider.
Electronic Hyperslide by Brian G. "Boom Boom"
Fun toy for the family. I have an 8 and 5 year old and they both can play it. They enjoy it either head to head or solo. It reminds me of Simon from when I was a child but I think this is better.
Great fun for a small amount of money. Best thing is there are no opposing teams: everyone is on the same one.Electronic Hyperslide
Electronic Hyperslide by E. Crew "elizcrew"
This is a fun toy in the "old" style. Just 1 or 2 players having fun, either as solitaire or in competition. It teaches color recognition, but also involves a lot of eye-hand coordination. Good for ages about 6 and up. Lots of high speed involovement too.
Pretty fun, unique game by Deano
We got this for our daughter (7) for Christmas. She says it's "just okay", but her teenage cousins thought it was really fun. We'll keep bringing it to family gatherings and maybe she'll grow in to it. It's a nice change of pace from board games. I'd say it's worthwhile for less than $20. We found it was best to play it in a room that's not too noisy. There isn't a volume control and if there is background noise, it's easy to miss hearing a command.
Hyperslide by Joan
Love this game. Fun for partners or by yourself. Tests your listening skills, motor skills and drive to do better. Lots of fun for ages of 8 at least and up.
This is a great toy for all ages. My 7 and 10 year old play it together and also play it with Grandpa and Grandma. It is easy to play, fun and addicting somewhat. Even teenages like playing it! Great deal for the price!!
Excellent bargain for the price by Amy
Purchased this gift for my nephew. He has spent countless hours playing with this. Definitely got our money's worth from this one.
My grandson has fun with this reasonably priced toy..In fact the whole family plays. It is not easy and it is really fun...
Competition Plus by J. Wood "tonywood"
This very durable toy turned out to be a hit among all ages Xmas Day. For the little ones it be came a learning situation using the colors. After that, competition set in and everybody got a chance to compete. Then they even went back to practice for the next round. It quickly developed speed and agility and the need to improve. We now have a board with team names and scores along with individual best performances.
As expected by Aaron Klenke's New a
The game performs as expected. Santa was big into games this year so the family can do more things together. This game is fun for all the ages of folks that played it (47, 38, 24, 21, 11, 7). What more can be asked for?
moves fast and is fun by Jim B.
Just like the description says. The game "announces" which color to pass under the toy and it magically knows if you've passed the correct one through! You can play alone or others. It gets harder as you get more color through correctly. Good for about 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Fun for adults and kids.
Really fun! by Debra E. Skiles
This is a great toy for our 6-year old who needs to learn to entertain himself -- it has a one-player setting! And, it's really fun to play as two-player, as well. It helps to improve reflexes & keeps him occupied.
Good game for the price by Jeanine Rhea
Bought this for the grand kids for Christmas. They seem to enjoy it but don't play for very long at any one time. In all fairness, they received many gifts so they are still trying to divide their time amongst their favorites. Both the 8 year old and the 4 year old figured out the game play pretty quickly. The game has different levels and various difficulty levels so it is a good game for many age levels. The 8 year old plays "one pass" with her brother and likes to play the more difficult levels with an adult. The more difficult levels require memorizing the disk colors being passed in progressively longer sequences. I also like the fact that there are very few parts to this game and that the disks are stored in a compartment inside the main game console itself so they won't be lost. It takes very little space and doesn't require putting everything back in a box. For the price, I highly recommend this game to add variety to your activity or game closet.
Great toy for all ages! by Brandy Breen-Ford
This was a surprise winner at Christmas. All the kids (even the adults) loved playing it. It is fun, fast paced (turns are quickly over so no one has to wait too long). My almost 4 year old really enjoyed it along with the grown ups. Pieces all fit within the toy (love things that have no loose pieces). Small game, easy clean up and great fun. All around winner.
MY 6 YR. OLD GRANDSON LOVES IT! by Not A Lot Of Money &
Gave this gift to my grandson who is not a lay back kind of kid. He loves action and he loves and plays ice hockey and is great at it. I bought this because it said it has similarities to a hockey game and I liked the idea that he has to follow the commands given as far as which colored "puck" to try to get to the goal - it can sense if you've used the wrong colored puck and lets you know. From the minute he took it out of the box, he just wouldn't put it down -- always asking to do it just one more time. And, I like that it kind of has to be played on a table so that he is confined as to where he can play with it and no one will be tripping over it or it's pucks/chips on the floor. It's also great that there's a storage area for the pucks when the game is not in use. Seems like a great toy that will keep the interest of a little boy who usually loses interest in things quickly. Oh, and the flashing lights and audio is a big plus!
The only thing I am not happy about is that it's almost $10 cheaper today than it was when I ordered it but hey!, that's the way it goes sometimes. Has nothing to do with the toy - just my timing.
This is a really cool game. It's a game you can play alone or head to head. We love the variety of games, and the storage compartment for pucks is a big plus - packs easily too. There is no volume control, as stated in other reviews, but doesn't seem to be an issue. Game can be shut off or reset by pressing both buttons on top; read directions. Boys (8&9) having lots of fun with it, and mom likes it too. Good game for all ages. Purchased another for class gift exchange, and for $15.99, not bad deal. Would rather pay a little more for something I know they'll enjoy.
Simple, fun and engaging by Yvonne
I bought this game last Christmas for my daughter (age 8), and we still play it often... which says a lot. It's great because it doesn't require a lot of set up or extensive time commitment to finish a game, so we can pick up and play for a little while whenever we have a few spare moments - between dinner and sports practice, before bed, etc.
The game challenges reaction time, focus and memory (it's like a modern, more interactive "Simon" game). Even her grandparents will play. Family friends, ages 6 - 13, also love it - both head-to-head and alone; and it keeps the kids occupied for 30-45 minutes at a time. There is an ongoing game among all of us to see who can set the highest individual score in each of the game options.
The price is great and it's definitely worth the money.
Love it! by Samantha "first time
We love this game! We saw it at a friends house and the 5 year old boys were playing so nicely I couldn't believe it. So I went home and found it online and ordered. I was happy with how quickly it came. My 5 year old plays this and I'm getting ready to buy it for my 7 year old nephew for Christmas. We only play a couple of the games for now, but I'm sure this will be a regular in our game rotation for years.
Also love the easy parts ordering system with Hasbro the maker. The first week we had this we lost the yellow disk and went online and ordered it quickly from Hasbro. Very happy with our game.
Fun, good quality by Jason Hajj
I bought this for my 8yo daughter. We have fun playing this together. The design, holding all the pieces in the side, is great. She has lost the removable band for single player mode though. This game is a great value.
