5Yay! A toy that intrigues the baby without driving the parent nuts. by Megan Mcdonald "Mega

My 10 month old likes high stimulus, so she seems to get bored with her toys quickly and doesn't think much of toys that don't DO something. This piano has a lot going on and so far it's been enough to keep her entertained better than any other toy.

Primarily I like its design. The 'composer' function doesn't just play one song quickly, repeatedly and loudly as most piano toys with some kind of 'demo' function do. When the baby hits a key, it plays one phrase. The next time a key is pressed gets another musical phrase. It's pleasant to listen to, you aren't left with one short tune running through your head and there's seven different melodies. In short, it seems like someone put some thought into what would make a piano toy fun and interesting to play with. It doesn't feel like it's been dumbed down on the assumption that parents don't care and babies don't know the difference.

5Great toy with one design flaw by SweetHappyLife-com "

This is a fun little toy that my 6-month old son enjoys playing with. As another reviewer mentioned, one of the great things about this piano is how varied the melodies are. Not only does it play classical pieces but your child can compose his/her own music as well, which means mom and dad don't have to hear the same melody over and over and over... big plus!

The one down-side is that the speaker is on the bottom of the toy, which means that if your child doesn't hold the piano on his/her lap while playing with it the sounds is very muffled. My son still likes to play with it - muffled sounds and all - but I can't help marveling that the designers put the speaker in such an unfavorable location. Einstein would blush to know that such an obvious design flaw was incorporated into a product with his name on it!

5My 7 month old son loves this piano!! by S.R.S "Mom of 1"

This is a great interactive toy for babies who love music.....Especially when they are learning to sit up on their own and good for tummy time too. It lights up and has 3 different play modes, sounds, and languages. It's not too loud, holds thier attention span, teaches them to push the buttons to get it to play, and is small so it can go to Grandma's for a weekend. My son loves the little spinner with the beads too. One thing you should know is, if your child is strong or plays rough and is active as mine,(he is only 7 months old and a big boy!) the piano is hard plastic with some weight to it and well, you get the idea!

5Does the job but could be better by Belle Genevieve

I bought this toy for my 4 month old son, who is still in the "supported sitter" stage and therefore loves to sit in his stroller. He still doesn't reach the tray so I use toys that fit between him and the tray, this toy is the perfect size for that (he also has the vTech steering wheel, and vTech Baby's Laptop for this purpose and they are great if you are looking for the same size of toys#.

After seeing my son play with the piano a few times this is what I have to say:

PROS:

1- As with most Baby Einstein toys and videos, classical music is the main feature and I like that.

2- Different settings provide a wide range of sounds and therefore I don't think this toy will drive me crazy too soon.

3- Different languages set ups helps me expose my son to several languages which is great and I big factor in my decision when I buy a toy #we live in a bilingual home as it is, and the more languages the better as far as I know#

4- Perfect size for my son to play with it in his stroller #as I mentioned before that was my main goal#

CONS

1- The speaker is on the bottom of the toy. When playing with it in his stroller this is not too big of a problem #since it's on his lap -an irregular surface- but when we lay the toy on his "tummy time" blanket it's really hard to hear the sounds.

2- When you have it in the "number" set up and you press a key, it plays music, then if you press it the second time it says the number. I know that the musical aspect of this toy is the main feature, but in my opinion it'd be better for "cause-and-effect" purposes if the toy would always say the number (and maybe after that play some music) when you press the keys while in the "numbers" set up.

3- I wish it had all the musical notes. The toy only has 5 keys and therefore only 5 notes, but looking around I found that most piano toys for this age range only have 5 keys so this may just be a standard thing.

All together it's a very nice toy, as far as I can tell it's safe for my son (nothing can come off of it or anything like that) and my son is interesting in it enough to keep him occupied for a little while which is all I asked for.

5Definitely a best buy! by A. Wallace

I bought this because I had no other real toys for my 5 mos. old. He loved kicking the keys at first, now it has helped him sit up so he can use his hands. I did have to put the toy up onto the tray of his little seat so it would be at hand level, but once he is sitting up better, this may not be the case. I would definitely recommend this toy if you are wondering what to buy your "transitional" baby who is between 4 and 6 mos. old and not quite sitting up unsupported yet.

5Better than I could have imagined. by Del

I bought this piano along with some other toys for my 5 month old twins. It looked like fun so I got it not realizing that it also plays the numbers in English, French and Spanish. It also plays several classical compositions and can change from piano to xylophone, etc. I was so intrigued by it I showed it to my husband and we played with it for like 30 minutes before we actually gave it to the twins. I do find that the number 2 button sticks sometimes but it wasn't enough of a problem to make me take away a star. Your kids will love this toy.

5Cute & fun! by J. Clemente "smart s

My 8 month old likes this toy. It keeps him entertained enough while I'm busy. It's the perfect size as it's not too big to put on table in front of him or to tote around. The keys are the perfect size for his little hands. And I like this toy for me because the classical music is nice to listen to and not annoying at all when my baby boy is playing with it.

5Great for Parent, not So Great for Baby by Eliza "Theia"

This toy is great from a parent's point-of-view. The music is actually pretty sounding and minimally repetitive. A total of nine different settings (3 modes X 3 instruments) means you can avoid hearing the same things over and over again. And has 2 volume settings too. But my daughter has simply never been very interested in it. She does enjoy the spinning bead thing on top, but that's about it. If she's in the right mood she may bang on it a little bit and when she was younger (~4 months) she liked to watch the lights but for the most part she ignores everything but the spinner. I thought maybe she'd grow into it but we've had it for four months now and she still is not into it. She does not seem particularly impressed with musical toys in general though, so a more musical baby may love it.

5Just ok. by Margaret

My son (now 9 months old) likes this toy - somewhat. It can hold his attention for max 2-3 minutes. There are better and more interactive toys out there. I would recommend to keep looking. Also, the music is really low as the speaker is on the bottom and it gets muffled.

5Get Take Along Tunes If You're Only Getting One Musical Toy by Winston Smith "Anoth

This baby piano is good but could be better. The options are kind of complrx, but that might be good for the toy to grow with your baby. The biggest drawback is the speaker being on the bottom, so the sound is often muffled. Unlike Take Along Tunes, this toy is designed to be on the floor, so why is the speaker located on the bottom? The spinny ball thing on top is fun, and my babies do play with this toy often--even if they turn it upside down half the time to hear the music.

5Baby Moron Toy by Ms Margaret

This toy appeals to parents because the music isn't obnoxious, its marketing promises a brilliant (bilingual) baby, and it isn't very expensive. The reality is there are so many switches, settings, and keys on this thing that it's all but impossible for your child to learn cause and effect. My son seemed interested in the toy, but grew frustrated after a while because the effect of hitting the red key with the setting on Spanish with one knob turned to the picture of the metronome with the other knob turned to the picture of the violin was completely different from the day before when he hit the red key with the setting on French with one knob turned to the picture of the keyboard and the other knob set to the picture of the clarinet.

My mother gave this toy to my son envisioning a valedictorian or the reincarnation of Beethoven. I ended up lying to her, telling her the toy was great, and sending it to the thrift store. If you want your toddler or baby to learn about music and cause and effect, simply put them in front of a keyboard or piano. Overall, we've found that while they have a great marketing campaign, Baby Einstein makes pretty poorly designed baby toys.

5So much to do! by KelBel

My daughter got this when she was 8 months old, and at 15 months she still loves it and plays with it several times a week! She likes to hear the numbers in English, French and Spanish; and claps after she plays a tune. There is also a fun plastic wheel with beads that is fun to spin! Good toy, would purchase again!

5Sound by Crankyish

I like this one alot, the buttons are pretty sensitive so small hands can activate the sound, the lights and top rattle like thing make it even better, makes it more interesting for babys, the only thing i dislike is the fact the speaker is on the bottom and you cant hear the sounds if its placed on a bed, other than that nothing wrong with it. My boy enjoys it.

5Well worth it! by For the Einstein

I bought Items by Baby Einstein before and new this item would be just as great. Expectations were highly satisfied when I received this toy.
My 14 month old loves this. It was another best learning toy I have gotten her.
Would recommend this to anyone with a child 12 month and older.

5Buy It! by lilmsjean

Purchased for 4 month old boy but he didn't start loving it until around 6 months. He's now 7 months and still enjoys playing with this toy daily. In the beginning, he didn't press down on the keys but enjoyed spinning the top part. I like toys that have a ON/OFF/LOW/LOUD function for sound because there are moments where you just need a little more quiet!! For the price, this is a fun, interactive toy for this age group. My first toy purchase order from Amazon (he got lots of rattles/crib mirror/etc as gifts) was this Piano along with the Baby Einstein Bendy Ball and Take Along Tunes. He was first interested in the Piano and now loves the Bendy Ball (get that, too!). He still hasn't embraced the Take Along Tunes but we'll see what happens...

5Good Product, Great Price by mark hicks

Great for babies, only issue speaker is at the bottom which makes the volume a bit low. I still say for theprice awseome deal!

5We love it! by J. Burgess

I bought this for my 3 1/2 month old son as he was quickly growing bored with his newborn toys and seemed to enjoy pushing the buttons on his exersaucer. He loves this! He loves to push the buttons to play the different songs, and it will entertain him for 10-15 minutes even (much longer than most toys). As he grows older I have no doubt he'll enjoy the other functions this offers. Worth every penny!

5Entertained My Baby for A Looong time (17 months, still going strong!) by Tenley

I bought this for my baby (now a toddler, 17 months old) when she was just a few months old. It was one of the first toys she actually paid attention to. She loved how easy it was for her to make music (which is very clear) and was VERY good for tummy time. While I've given away most of her younger baby toys, I keep this one because she still occasionally likes to bang around on it. This toy is VERY durable and we haven't had to change the batteries once. It still looks brand new despite being played with, thrown in and out of the toybox, and chewed on.

5A favorite by CFM85

My 6mo old daughter has been playing with this piano since she was about 2mos old and it is still one of her favorite toys. It keeps her entertained for a while and gives me time to do a short chore. We take this toy with us everywhere!

5Cute easy to use toy! by A. Copulos "Coranne"

My son loved this toy! The sound is the right volume- not loud enough to annoy parents, but loud enough that it will keep the baby's attention. It was a fun toy for my 6 month old, but he was done with it in a few months. I will be holding on to it for my future children.

Great choice for a musical piano for babies that are just sitting up and crawling!

5my son loves it! by Ben's mommy

My son has been playing with this BI piano for the past 2 months and has really enjoyed it. He is now almost 5 months and still enjoys it and is more able to press the keys as he is getting older and stronger. My only complaint is that when in the # mode when you press a key it says the corresponding number, but the next key you press it plays music instead of saying the number. Not sure why they would have designed it this way because it makes it harder for kids to learn numbers with it. The speaker is on the bottom of the toy which is kind of odd. It makes it difficult to hear the sounds if on a soft/squishy surface but I prefer it to be a little on the quiet side as opposed to too loud and obnoxious. Great toy overall. Cute, colorful, nice size and good sound quality.

5Fun and fantastic!! by Adrienne Conner

After reading all of the other reviews for this product and also being very impressed with all of Baby Einstein products, I ordered this piano. My daughter really enjoys playing with it. She's 5 months and in between the sitting up/crawling stage. She likes playing with it both sitting up as well as during tummy time. We have the Baby Einstein jumper which has the spinning cylinder and she loves that so it's nice that the company repeats what interests babies. I was skeptical about the speaker portion being on the bottom of the unit, but it has two settings and I really like the option. My daughter startles very easily and I liked that she could get used to the piano at the lower setting first. I would highly recommend this product to any parent who has a desire to develop their childs' musical as well as gross motor skills.

5My 5 month old loves this! by Amber M. Garnett

This was one of my first "big" toys I got for my daughter. she is 5 1/2 months old and needed something more substantial than a rattle or small toy to play with. She was immediately intriqued by this. She loves the fact she can bang on it and it lights up and plays music. She learned quickly how to make it work. She also loves trying to chew on the upper spinning rattle part which is hard to do but she always gravitates toward it. I can sit her in her bumbo and put this on her tray and it keeps her entertained for 20 minutes at a time which is saying a lot for a 5 month old. I would recommend this.

5Lovely little toy by Miss K

I love how this toy has basically 6 different modes. There is the red toggle to give you 3 different ways the keys played will sounds 1) Numbers mode 2) Music mode 3) Piano mode. The numbers mode and music mode are similar in that the music mode when you press 1 key on the toy will play a little melody and while in numbers mode, it either does that or a voice will call out the # on that key. The piano is basically you press the key and 1 note is played. Any time a key is pressed a colored light goes off in the plastic window in the middle.

The yellow toggle on the right side lets you pick out how the music sounds 1) Clarinet 2) Xylophone 3) Piano and that is kind of self-explanatory. \

There are also 2 yellow switches on the bottom. The one below the orange key is to control the volume, I just leave it on the highest volume setting. The switch below the purple key is to switch languages for the numbers mode 1) English 2) French 3) Spanish and I just leave it on English.

The rattle spinning toy on the top is also another thing that I didn't expect to like but the baby loves it so I do too! Sometimes the baby rather spin the rattle than press the keys.

The only drawback to this toy is that the speakers are on the bottom so if the playback volume is severely compromised if you leave it on a flat surface to let the baby play with it. That means you have to hold it up in your lap while the baby plays in order for the playback volume to be normal. I wish the speaker holes were on the sides to accommodate that because it's very natural to want to set down the toy and have the baby play it like that!

Overall, it is a decent toy for the price with that 1 flaw.

5Baby toy by Peggy Stephenson

This is very cute, my grandson likes it alot, he likes the music and it is not very loud so it is not annoying to parents or other people in the room.

5Great Value by Paul Iniguez

My daughter loves this simple but entertaining piano. Even I like playing a few simple songs on it. Definitely worth the modest cost!

5Great gift! by OGsMama

I bought this for my friend's baby's first birthday. I like that it speaks three languages and the sound is of good quality. I recommend this product for young children.

5My daughter loves it! by Ali's Mom

My 5 month old daughter loves it. It has 3 language settings: English, Spanish, and French. I love that feature. It is smaller than I had imagined but it really the perfect size for my little one to use. It is flat enough and sits low enough that it is also a great activity for tummy time. I recommend. my only issue is the volume is not very loud even on the highest setting. That could be a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it :)

5LOVE IT by Cathleen ", CA"

This works great for so many ages in the first year. Tummy time, sitting, crawling. We love this at our house. Easy for kids to use, great music and it lights up. Doesn't get much better than that.

5Great Toy Piano by tdc of newnan "tdc21

My son likes his little piano. He knows how to change the selector. I love that it plays music as well as counts. I think it is fun that it has the other languages too.

5Lots of Options by J. Snow

Great piano. We've had it for about 6 mo. now, and it has lots of options for different sounds, different languages. My son has liked it even when all he could do was spin the wheel on the top to now when he's figured out to press the keys and change the options above the keys. The batteries have lasted this whole time with the piano being turned on all the time.

5Boring by K. Staddon "2nd time

This toy is boring! The speaker is on the bottom so you can barely hear any music even with it's turned up all the way. This does not hold a child's attention for more than a minute. I got this for my daughter when she was 4 months old and all she wanted to do, and still does, is spin the spinner. What a waste!

5My son loves this by J. Poe

My son is 9.5 months old and has been enjoying this piano for several months. At first, he just liked to play with the spinning tube with the balls on the back/top. He didn't really get that the keys made noise. But now that he is older, he plays with the keys as well and knows that moving the little meters will change the types of noise he can make. This piano is really quiet when face up, but my little guy is obsessed with the speaker underneath & likes to play with it upside down so it is a bit louder that way. The music is less obnoxious than most of the other music/electronic toys out there, so that is nice. And it is a really durable toy. Overall, we have been very happy with it.

5Hard to find a toy we all love! by proshoperz

This, like all of the other Baby Einstein toys we own, did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, it is probably our favorite! There are many options to this toy, including reciting the numerals aloud in 3 languages. The speaker is located on the bottom, so the sounds are not blaringly loud. Great for tummy time! Really motivates the baby to crawl toward it, and the buttons are large and easy for little ones to activate. The bonus is the top part, which my daughter loves to make spin, and hear/see the beads move all around. You will not regret this buy!

5Piano. by Harriet Strout

Baby Einstein Count and Compose Piano...As a grandmother, I was pleased with the reviews, purchased the item and was rather amazed that the speaker was on the bottom of the toy...where, if it is on a rug, is hardly audible. My ears? or placement? My 11 month grandson now gravitates to the toy...so I'd say the sound suits him. Happy that I purchased it!

5Great toy!!! by C.G.

My 3-month son absolutely loves this toy, and it has done a great job teaching him reactions and hand-eye coordination. Would highly recommend for even the youngest babies!

5a favorite by ljl4575

this has been one of my 8 month old son's favorite toy for several months now and its not annoying for us either!!! he loves that he can make the music play and the light...he loves everything about ti!

5would not buy this... by Austin

I bought this for my 8 month old son. He was bored with it in a matter of minutes and I ended up sending to back. The keys play very softly, and there is not much on the toy to really play with. I ended up spending a little more and getting the Fisher-Price 2-in-1 Singing Band Walker. It's a little more money but has been well worth it! It plays songs, and keys are loud enough to hear them and there are multiple toys on it! And he can use it as a walker when he gets to that stage!

5Fun and smart little piano. by C. Brodeur

I was amazed at how fast my little one took to this piano. He was able to flick switches and push keys by four months old. He loves to play with it, bat at it, and roll around with it. It really encourages tummy time. The three languages are great (especially the French for my French Canadian heritage) and I'm sure that with coaching from myself and his dad that the piano will help him learn colors and numbers. I do wish it had at least two more keys, so that it plays a full musical scale.

5Wonderfully entertaining by Nikki Jones

My son fell in love with this today at 6 months old and still loves it at 8 months. The music is classical, volume-appropriate, and pleasant overall. The voice is pleasant as well. The toy teaches counting, colors, and hand-eye coordination. The only negative is that the setting to switch to different instrument sounds doesn't seem to make the sounds actually change. With that said, I highly recommend this toy.
