Requires coordination and patience by S. Goodman
I think the concept of this toy is really fun, and my kids certainly enjoy it although you need to be prepared to search around for scattered pieces if you don't have a restricted area for shooting the birds. I find shooting toward a rug or on a table with a tablecloth keeps them from ricocheting all over the room.
First, the good stuff:
PROS: The rules are simple, easy to explain to younger children, and you don't have to know how to read to figure things out, so that's also great for little ones.
The birds, pigs, catapult, and the structure pieces all seem pretty sturdy. Plus my five year old likes to just play with the game pieces as action figures. We only got this game because he wanted some plastic Angry Birds to play with and this was the only thing we found that fit the bill.
The game builds coordination and (hopefully) a little patience in the best case scenario. But that leads me to the cons...
CONS: This is more a downfall for folks like me who can't stand tedious projects :) but I get a little frustrated trying to build the structures shown on the level cards sometimes. They are supposed to be grouped according to difficulty, but some of the Level 1( ie: allegedly easier) structures are just as difficult as the Level 2 and 3 ones. There are some I think might be impossible to build at all based on the law of gravity, although my husband disagrees and says with enough balance they're all possible.
I'm kind of a fumble-prone mom and I spent more time knocking down half-built structures with my clumsy hands than with birds at first. If you have a child who doesn't have much tolerance for slow, meticulous projects then he/she might be annoyed trying to build the structures.
As far as the actual shooting the birds part of the game, that takes some getting used to and is actually a lot harder than on the Iphone app. in my opinion. That said, it is doable. My five year old and eight year old are fans of the game and have already played with it a lot. One tip: make sure you keep up with all the pieces because losing even one or two of the logs or blocks will seriously hamper your ability to complete the structures on the cards.
Loads of Family Fun by FLbeachbum
My six year old son is obsessed with this game. He first started playing on my husband's Droid. I ordered this as a birthday present (it's in November) but ended up giving it to him early. Shipping was fast - received within 3 days of ordering. I got it today and immediately gave it to him and his younger (5 yr old) sister to play with. Set up was easy - within a few minutes - and they have been playing with it ever since. This one is a keeper!
Fun for the whole family by Lindsay Creasy
My 4 year old is obsessed with Angry Birds. I didn't like the idea of him spending so much time playing a video game, so this was the perfect alternative. And it's something we can do together as a family. So much fun!
I found this game @ Toys-R-Us for less than half this price. It was on sale for $12, the SUGGESTED RETAIL price is ONLY $16.99
I do have to admit it is a fun game, that is easy to play and set up, my nephew loves it, but I am not about to spend almost 2x's what the game is worth just because it is Angry Birds.
fun for all ages .. by L. T. Gerhardt
We got the game and I immediately set it up with my 15 year old grandson (he indulges Gramma) soon his mother was playing too. We laughed and talked about how much fun we were having -- soon my son (44) joined and 16 year old granddaughter played too. I have taken it to work and lunch time has become Angry Bird Haven ....This is the BEST investment in fun I have made in a LOOOOONG time!!
Got this for our 5 year old who loves angry birds on our iPod. It did not disappoint. We have had many great family nights around the table with this game.
LOTS OF FUN! by lj
I bought this for my 4 year old son who loves playing Angry Birds and he absolutely loves making "real" Angry Birds games to knock down. He laughs and laughs when the birds go flying across the room to "get those piggies!" Definitely a great game for kids and adults alike.
"Knock on plastic" would be more appropriate by Kevin
Cute game and definitely fun until you get tired of chasing pieces everywhere. They shouldn't call it "Knock on wood" though, since the pieces are (obviously) plactic. Imagine how cool an adult version of this game would be with high quality pieces (wood, stone, etc.) and more complex set-ups! I would buy a dozen!
Games with Catapults are always a hit around here! by T. Distaso
OK, OK..
It is angry birds In real life game. The only thing it is missing is sound effects!!
This was a birthday gift for my 4 year old.. YEAH YEAH the box says 5 and up, but he sure is enjoying the game A LOT!
TO be honest we haven't sat down and played through a round according to the rules, but we don't have to to enjoy this set!
The blocks are plastic, but a very sturdy plastic with fund wood grain detail!
The birds are a great size, CUTE and look amazing! the pigs are well designed to sit on their blocks and not roll around.
I have read through the rules and am sure it will a fun game to play. The instructions are definitely easy to follow.
I know my kids will enjoy just playing freely, or trying to build what the cards show.
It can be a bit tough building some of the set-ups, you will accidentally bump things over, no biggie, comes with the concept of the game IMO and only adds to the play time.
The catapult can really get some air with it and launch those birds! That is the biggest challenge, figuring out where to start your catapult and how hard to let it fly!
PS the Catapult and one bird made a cute addition to an Angry birds Birthday cake I tried to "build"!
WHAT'S THE DEAL, AMAZON! by Gigi
I ordered this game for grandkids for Christmas. It was being offered by Amazon.com. Each time I clicked to order it at the lower price ($19 one time and $25 one time), it would be come up "no longer available at that price." So, wanting to ensure the kids received the toy I ordered it 3 days ago at the outlandish price of $31 (offered by Amazon)Grandparents do this! Now today, 11/17/11 it is again offered at $19! What's the deal Amazon? Walmart.com offered it at $14 (no longer available) and Toys R Us has it on sale for $12. They will call me when it arrives. Thank you Toys R Us....now I can have 2 games...one for each family of children.
Great toy, but overpriced at $30. by Janna Jennings
My boys, ages 4 and 8, both love this game. We bought it at Wal-mart for $15. It is definitely worth that, but I'm not sure I'd pay the current Amazon price for it.
Just pure angry birds.... by Labdad
This toy is definitely not for anyone below 3 yrs of age. I do have a toddler running around the house and his big brother makes sure he does not reach the "small birds". My older son is a total angry birds fan. He enjoys the game and he uses his building skills to create new "pig" habitats to destroy. Now granted this is not a classic "learning toy", my kid does not mind it one bit and it does engage his imagination. He still enjoys playing Angry Birds HD on my Ipad, PC, and phone but he likes to see the birds knock the pigs down beyond the tablet screen. The rules are simple to explain to your child and the cards are pretty interesting to use especially when building the different configurations. Cards or no cards, I just let my child build his own configurations in addition to what is there. Overall it's a fun addition to the ever growing Angry Birds collection in the house.
Tons of fun! My boys are younger than the recommended age for this game, but they still love it (we just let them shoot more birds than they are supposed to).
Angry Birds Knock on wood by PS
Angry Birds: Knock On Wood Game
This game is great!!! My 5 year old son LOVES Angry Birds (as do I) and he had his 5th Birthday party with an Bird theme. This belated gift just arrived today and he won't stop playing with it. The slingshot really launches the birds. It is actually good for his coordination to try and judge how far back to set the slingshot and how to press/release it!!!! Great buy!!!!
Cheap, plastic, over-priced by Taj
After paying $30 for this game I was shocked to see what poor quality it is. Cheap plastic, made in China and dollar store quality. Save your money. I'm returning it.
Hours of family fun by You R What U Read "C
We bought this for our 6 year old son. He was addicted to the iPad version of Angry Birds. He has not stopped playing with the toy since it arrived. It requires creative construction as opposed to being a zombie in front of iPad. The whole family is now immersed in play time :). Good work Mattel and Rovio.
Plastic not heavy enough by GenXmom
I wanted to love this game, but the plastic pieces are so flimsy and light. The slingshot is really poor. There are only three birds!
If only the pieces were bigger, heavier ...
Angry Birds Knock on Wood Game by Iris Elizabeth "Lizz
Angry Birds: Knock On Wood GameThe game can be quite entertaining, but it takes practice to determine how to aim and how much force to use. It also takes some experimentation to figure out what type of surface, table, etc. to use, as a table that is too small isn't really workable. Once we got going, with three players, it was actually quite a challenge getting it set up over and over.
The one thing that should have been included is a diagram of what goes where when putting it away. It's much easier if you take careful notes when you unpack it, but who thinks of that the first time, and after that it's too late, unless you are present at someone else's house with their new set and armed with that knowledge.
I actually bought two of these, one to keep at home and one for a granddaughter in another town.
Disappointed in price by Mom of a paintballer
I ordered this from Amazon for the price they advertised and saw it at Target for $16.00, which is a lot less. I can't return it to Amazon because there was no receipt in the package! So I am out $$$! Frustrating.
Bought at Target $17 on 11/30 by ShopperMom
Over priced on Amazon. Check out Target for $17 as of 11/30/11. No idea about game, though. Haven't opened it. Just thought I would help out the Christmas shoppers.
I bought this for 8.00 at Target - which is the appropriate cost for this game - The game is a lot of fun, my kids love it and I'm glad I spent the time hunting for it.
Just in case by Andrwe J. Smith
Just in case your computer or device locks up, you can still play your favorite game. Suggest setting up on floor as not to be chasing pieces all over but loads of fun. Love how game comes with set up cards. Lots of fun for the whole family.
Be prepared to be involved by AvidReaderMom
My 4 and 6 yr old sons received this as a gift. They had never heard of angry birds before they got this game. Now, they recognize them everywhere. First, despite the game's difficulty level, they truly enjoy it. However, I would put this for ages 7+ just because it is difficult to create the exact image on the cards with the props and it's hard to slingshot your birds exactly where you want them to go. Be prepared to play with your children if they are younger. I think it's a great concept. My boys love to play it even though they get frustrated. I just wish the props were easier to build with.
Great family game!! Would recommend for hours of fun. The kids love building the scenes and trying to get those piggies. A lot of laughs!
Angry Birds Board by Catherine Calio
My son is 5 and loves the angry birds game on the tablet and computer etc. I bought this because he loves to build things and create his own levels. He loves this game and places with it every single day. When we bring it down the shore the kids don't do anything but play this game. Its durable and a lot of fun for the kids!!!
I have to say that I feel old seeing a board game based on a video game. It's fun. My son loved it. We used it as a cake topper at his angry birds themed birthday party.
This toy is fantastic says my son. Some levels are hard to balance, should of had more for the money ,overall fun.
Fun little game, and mildly educational by Egar
This game caught my son's eye at a local amusement park, so we ordered it. It is a great live version of the phone/tablet game, and provides good entertainment. additionally, we found ways to apply it to some of his science lessons, so that makes it a little better than your typical toy/board game.
Fun idea...needs more work by veggiemomma
I recently purchased this item for my children and they loved it! That is, until they tried to build one of the modules on the cards provided. They look cool but most are just not possible. I have tried again and again to create the structures and i have steady hands but its no use. The kids got annoyed when they couldn't make the structures but they still play with it.
Mom of 2 boys under 10 - Great toy for them by Susan ZM "Busy"
My sons are fans of the Angry Birds game on PC and phone. They only get to earn play time for it once a week. They love this stand alone game and play it with or without the cards that come with the game. It has let to a lot of imagination play as well. This is well suited for kids 5 and older.
The using of the pulley to fire the bird at the blocks is tricky. We've built each set on top of the box and used the pulley system from right next to the box. We've also been lax on number of tries it takes to knock down the pigs.

Bought for my granddaughter's birthday. She loves it! Angry birds merchandise is difficult to find, but is readily available at Amazon. Looks like the real angry birds, is durable and easy to learn.
7 year old loves it by J. Evans
My 7 year old loves Angry Birds. He has the stuffed animals, the shirts, and now, the real life game. This was a present he received on his birthday and it definitely is a favorite. He plays it all the time and brings it out every time he has a friend over. He is able to set up all the pieces they way they are shown on the card, and i would think that kids even a few years younger could do it too. The cards show you exactly what you have to do, they're very straight forward. No, the birds do not explode or split into the mini birds but he loves it all the same. It's very cool to play the game as an App, but its awesome being able to do it in real life. I highly recommend this for all kids(maybe even some adults) who love angry birds. Would definitely buy again, and have recommended to others.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a huge fan. Most of the time, you spend a long time building the structure only to miss it completely with the birds. The catapult is hard to aim and to control how far the bird goes. My 6 year old likes it, but I think it's mostly the idea of it that he likes.
AMAZON IS RAISING THE PRICE!!!! by M. Moreno
I saw this on Amazon last week for $19.99. It's become very popular, and I guess that's when Amazon decided to raise the price to $29.99 then $32.95 and now back down to 29.99. It's $14.97 at Walmart and $19.99 at Toys R Us.
Don't Waste Your Money by Mary L. Toth "grandm
I thought this would be fun for my grandkids who play Angry Birds on their ipods. It is nearly impossible to make it work in this version. They rarely knock over anything with the launcher which frustrates them. We've played it twice and now it just sits there waiting until we have a yard sale.
It is an average good game to keep kids away from computers by Efrain Barrera
It is a good game to entertaining kids without the use of video games or video games!
Well made and looks like so far the rubber catapult is durable as my kids have been using it a lot without any problems.
I recommend it for educational purposes too, as teach them how to play using their ability to point the target and to strategize without the use or help of any software, etc.
I bought this for my grandchild ages 5 & 7 and they are haveing a great time with it, it keeps them busy when they aren't doing anything. It's a great way to get them away from the TV.
This is a cute toy for those angry birds fans! My 8 yr old son loved playing with it and it was fairly inexpensive.
Loved playing this with my 4 yr old grandson by Susie61
We had a lot of fun and giggles playing this game with my 4 yr old grandson. Building the games was challenging for him and it was a great skill enhancing game for him.
